The next 'Airshow Dispatches' film was supposed to be from Paris Air Legend, but a Shuttleworth show and a spell of good weather coincided with one of my only free weekends of the summer, and I couldn't resist a trip to Old Warden. It was, as you can see, a very good decision! The Air Legend episode will follow in six weeks or so, with plenty more warbird action to come.

Stunning footage and commentary yet again Adam! And what a superb display from Romain in RN201, my favourite Spitifre on the UK circuit, just a beautiful scheme.

Thanks Adam. Steve here. Had I have known you where there I'd have popped over for a chat rather than a quick wave as you drove out.. Excellent footage of an excellent show & a great & informative commentary as usual. I think RN201 was the absolute highlight. John Romain really is the master of displaying warbirds & at Old Warden it's a match made in heaven!

Likewise! If I'd been thinking a bit quicker, I'd have swung onto the grass and park up for a few minutes to say hello. Naturally, this only occurred to me a couple of hundred metres too late. But what a terrific day it was! RN201 was glorious. See you at another show later this season, I bet.

There is no better sound than a Merlin except a duet (Mossie) and there is only one better sound than that … a quartet. Bravo PA474

A rare treat indeed to hear TWO first class commentators on one aviation related video, yourself and Ben Dunnell, I have narrated on a few of my own KZbin videos so can testify that its not as easy as some may think it is. l have been attending events at Shuttleworth for over 40 years now and can recall the likes of past commentators such as the excellent Roger Hoefling and John Blake who were always able to be both informative but sparing with their words, thus letting the aircraft themselves do most of the 'talking'. Who wants the sound of a Merlin or Griffin engine being constantly interrupted by annoying self indulgent babble?! I would also totally agree with you about the superb Spitfire display given by John Romain, l was there and it reminded me of past Spiffire displays at Shuttleworth l witnessed given by Neil Williams, Ray and Mark Hanna, all had the flowing grace of an aerial ballet, the John Romain display was a privilege to watch. Keep up the good work Gary Lewis

Thank you; Ben is indeed a terrific commentator and knows that sometimes the best thing to say is nothing at all - an ethos I fully intend to follow when it's my turn next season.

Have to agree about Roger Hoefling. A great commentator who always knew when to speak & when not to & also gave info in small easy to digest sections. The one time voice of Shuttleworth & of course the Mildenhall Air Fete. Both Ben Dunnell & Adam certainly have the same great qualities of Roger.

Awesome!! You should actually try going to NATO days they got tons of cool displays there also ittl work with your schedule as it’s in Europe and after few weeks after air legend

Because of its unusual site layout (lots of tall trees, a distant display area and no conventional crowdline), combined with the unfavourable lighting conditions, NATO Days is just about the most challenging airshow to film in Europe. I don't think I could make a decent Airshow Dispatches film there. I'll go, of course - I'm there most years. But I'm there to work, not to film KZbin videos.
