ALBA Automatic Mechanical Watch with Rotating Bezel

Hi everyone, to clarify regarding the ALBA watches water resistance queries on this thread, ALBA watches come with varying degrees of water resistance from 3, 5, 10, 15 and going up to 20 bar. If your watch is inscribed with 10, 15 or 20 bar, your watch is designed and manufactured to withstand up to 10/15/20 bar water pressure and suitable for taking a bath, shallow diving, and light swimming, but not for scuba diving. It is always recommended to wear a Diver’s watch for scuba diving. Some things to keep in mind while using 10/15/20 bar water resistance watches: Before using your water resistance watch in water, be sure to push in the crown completely. Do not operate the crown when the watch is wet or in water. If used in sea water, rinse the watch in fresh water and dry completely before storing. Else, trapped minerals and moisture will damage the case and strap. When using a water-resistant watch while taking a shower or bath, be sure to observe the following: Do not operate the crown when the water is wet with soapy water or shampoo. If the watch is left in warm water, a slight time loss or gain may be caused. This condition , however, can be corrected when the watch returns to normal temperature.

It's a diver watch, it's meant to dive with. And the 20 bar means it has a water resistant rating of 200 metres, so no worry taking it to the beach.

@@atthetime711 so what do you expect from a dive watch? Would you even go that deep with the watch? It has a rotating bezel and 200 m of water resistance. Yet if it is not a dive watch them Rolex Submariner isn't also a dive watch.

@@atthetime711 i know certified divers watch would say ' Diver's 200m' but sometimes these do play a very good game. If not 200m they can be submerge upto 150m al least

yes they are long lasting. Also the calibration can also be done in case the watch is fast or slow.

@@gogi i have been into watches for a few years now. And i came to know that watches especially mechanical one are heirlooms. I still have a watch which my uncle gave me it's from 2003 and its a Seiko.

You can definitely swim with it. Just avoid setting anything when the watch is wet. So go ahead and take a dip! :)

At 3:15 you said don't swim. Let me guide you it's 20 bar means it's 200 meters water resistant watch you can swim, Snorkel and even go scuba diving with this watch. Before ALBA there was Pulsar which was also Seiko's sub brand.

It's not meant for diving. Diver watches have a "divers 200m" written on them. When one jumps for diving the sudden pressure increase can shatter the glass

Its known to all that Alba belongs to SEIKO group, so in terms of accuracy of claimed features like water resistance, stainless steel quality, etc - you need not to worry about. But the movement used, are the older generation SEIKO movement without manual winding and second hand hacking features. SEIKO branded watches are not using these older generation movements. In most of the Alba models, you will get folded link stainless steel bracelet if you are chosing the bracelet version. Bezel wil be without any click. But you can buy a mechanical watch with SEIKO group support and 200m water resistance at 12.5 k only from Alba. So make an informed decision and have realistic expectations - you will not regret buying alba unless you expect a Seiko at one third price.
