Nice video, thanks for sharing. I'm planning on tuna fishing this summer for the first time on my boat. If you could do a video on terminal tackle, how far to run each rod out, what to do when you catch a tuna as far as ice/water/salt, that would be awesome.

Great suggestions. I was planning a similar vid, partly on land and offshore to show instead of talk about the setup, spread, dive board/hand lines, etc. I like your suggestions also!

Great video! Can you tell me where you get the extended reel clamps with the hole for the rod leash? Did they come with your reels. Look like they are a good match. Thanks

@@TheRotchy1 ebay has them. Just seach fishing reel clamp. Billet alum. Work great.

You’re right Sean! I like having consistent gear and familiarity with using them. Oh god, I can’t wait to hear the spinning noise once a hog hits the bait🤗 Good idea about taking notes on the line so you know when it’s getting wear and tear. Any suggestions for videos on knots?🪢 Just know the FG knot with a judo finish? It’s nice having a couple extra rods in case one fails. What kind of coffee do you drink? I’m sure it’s important to have good coffee😉 Thanks for all the info!! Definitely helps me understand some of the whys and being a better fisherman.

FG knot with a Rizzuto finish... thats the knot weve been using for the last two seasons and it seems to hold up very well.

You said your top shot mono was 250 lb. What pound test are you running for your braid and for your 6’ mono leader? And thanks a bunch for the video. I just bought a boat that will allow me to chase tuna so I’m trying to learn all I can.

Top shot is usually 150 to 250# on tuna rods, and 80# braid. I use 250# top shot on way-back rods, and 200# braid. Just depends on what ive got on hand and whats in stock at the store. You can always email, DM, or call. I can get you dialed in. Tight lines.

Thx for the breakdown, what length and action are you running on the Okuma rods?
@sssean395 ай бұрын
Theyre a 6.0'. They dont list an action but are 30-60 lbs braided line class, 'Albacore Special.'

Excellent, Thx Sean. I bought a new halibut rod in that SST line this last week and put it to work Saturday 👍 we got a 52" on it. Seams to be a solid line of rods for under 100 bucks. Thx again
