Always love your blogs. I knit with you whilst listening. Thank you for taking time in your busy life to chat and show us your new house (many congratulations) and the Perth show. You reminded me that I had been on the island a long time ago on the paddle steamer! My folks lived in the area at that time and I spent a lot of time on the west coast. Thank you once again and good luck with the renovations 💕🌿

Lovely to see you again! Good luck wirh the new home. I’m currently knitting a jumper with a Scottish name 😊, Selkie, by a Swedish designer, Lotta Löthgren. However, I don’t knit in a “”selkie colour” but non the less the colour is a tribute to Scotland: Thistle 😊

Thank you for hosting such a wonderful knitting retreat! We all agree our time on Arran with the Sannox team and guests was the absolute highlight of our Scotland adventure. The warm welcoming space at Sannox made strangers into dear friends. It seems there is no fellowship quite like a knitting group😊. I love watching you make your new house into a forever home. Cheers!

So much to love, yet again. 🙂 Your wife's pullover is looking great - great job! Your new house looks like it has good bones, and will be a cozy nest before too long. 😉 The views from your new house are amazing! Something to consider for those single skeins is the Musselburgh hat by Ysolda Teague. I just finished my fourth one in fingering (4 ply) weight. It's a great pattern, and allows one to use several different weights of yarn. Always love your videos. Best wishes for all good things to continue to come your way. 🤗

Hi Andrew, sorry I wasn't able to send my beanies this year. I packed everything up to move end of August thinking I would post them over once I was in but then our sale fell through 4 days before exchange of contracts. It's been a nightmare and we are living around boxes. We are now again sold subject to contract so we hope to be moved before end of year but it may go over into 2025.

Hi, Andrew ! Why is there always so much to do , when there are knits waiting in our basket, and a cup of tea is calling our name ?! But honestly, it sounds like you have plenty of other, more pressing projects to finish before winter...Congrats on your family's cozy new home and cheerful renovations to brighten up your resolve for knitting through the cold winter ahead ! Love the community location too...looks beautiful ! I'm nearing the end of my Icelandic cardigan (Vorsol, meaning Spring Sun), bottom up in the traditional Scandi way...about to cast off the neckband, sew-in lots of ends, wash&block, then put on the buttons ! I always enjoy the news from the Isle of Arran...take care❣

Since the last time you did a podcast, I finally finished my 2023 Christmas sweaters (three of them) and completely started and finished my first Ranunculus, which I love how that turned out! Your colorwork is looking lovely! Gosh, I'd love to do a tour of all the sheepy islands over there, but we also have young people becoming adults, so we're trying to get through that before adding anything else to our plates. Best of luck with the new house. I just completed a double knitted beanie for Christmas at Sea, which is a program of the Seamen's Church Institute here in the U.S.A. They have their own free patterns for items that working men can wear, very simple without tassels or ties or similar safety risks. It allows me to learn a new technique and use heavier wool leftovers in my yarn stash. Double knitting is slow but very easy!

I remember many many years ago our local vicar lived across the road (Devon) in a beautiful manse house but mum telling me it belonged to the church and often when vicars retired they didn’t have enough money to buy a home. I was shocked to say the least and only a teen at the time. So I am pleased you are buying a home even if it needs a lot of work. Take care Andrew. Woodchip is a nightmare! Your lovely new home will be ready soon though and how exciting to have your very own space. Thank you so very much for sharing your visit to The Scottish Yarn Festival. As a small business trying to grow, I was thrilled to see my little booties on your podcast. I do apologise for running up to say 'hi' then scampering away again. My stall was busy but I really wanted to say hello and tell you how much I enjoy your podcast. Uist wool is beautiful and and I have been enjoying using it for both business and personal projects. The way they blend the fleece colours in skeins and garments is beautiful. The knitting retreat sounds like really good fun and I hope that I can make it across from Galloway one day to come and visit your part of Scotland. Fingers crossed for the ferries! I'm knitting a slip-over vest in some gorgeous wool from the Isle of Colonsay just now. The Scottish Yarn Festival wool is beautiful to crochet with. I went for the softer green and made a hat. Wow! Your house is needing more than a “little “ TLC. We have been in similar circumstances, and you are so lucky to be able to do the renovations before moving in. We enjoyed seeing you on the island and at the yarn festival. When you said that you did not purchase anything, my husband commented that I had more than made up for the shortfall. I purchased enough for both you and I. My purchases were mostly sock yarn, although I bought a couple of kits for fingerless mitts. I have several socks in progress with yarn from Scotland. We are already planning a trip for Spring to Scotland.

Congratulations Andrew on your new hame, I can sympathise with you the drama of moving, my daughter and I just bought a home together and it has not been easy fitting 2 households into one, especially when we are both crafters! Look forward to seeing how you get on 🤔 I was wondering if you would like an antique book I bought after visiting Arran, it was produced in 1933, and is called’All about Arran’ by R.Angus Downie, it’s really interesting goes back to the Vikings and the Roundheads and of course Bruce, St Columba and Saint Molios. Let me know, it’s a wee bit tatty as you can imagine but a great read. 💕
