I entered Albania without a visa as a solo female traveller last January 7, 2022. A week before my departure, I emailed Albanian Embassy in Abu Dhabi to ensure they didn't require a visa, and I received a response saying that they don't require visas for UAE residents at the moment. Before my departure, I kept checking the Albania Embassy website to ensure there were no changes. On January 10, some people complained on social media about visa on arrival. Since then Evisa required if you don’t hold 10yr golden visa in UAE. I strongly advise everyone to visit Albania. The weather, food, and people are all wonderful. ❤

The thing is. These changes were published late. And so many people were unaware including myself. The night before my depqrture i checked and it was still showing visa on arrival. Anyway, lesson learned.

Dude to recommend to everyone that they never visit Albania based on the fact that the immigration didn’t let you In is not fair. Sounds personal. Normally immigration have reasons to reject entry. Those reasons sometimes are known or unknown to that person. I think you are being black and white in your description. True that the officer may have made a mistake but often decisions are not random. Some common reason for rejection entry are as follow: 1) Risk to public safety 2) illegal immigration to Albania or EU through Albania 3) No meeting Visa and Entry criteria 4) links to terrorism etc 5) Espionage May I ask what is you Nationality what is your Original Country’s passport? It’s normal practice within the security services not to alert a suspect on their suspension especially if they don’t have definite proof. Normal practice is to reject without explanation. Albania uses TIMS as their vetting system which is use throughout Europe. Whatever Information is about you in that system may have guided their decisions. Recently, arrivals from UAE residency use Albania as a transit to illegally immigrate to Europe or UK. EU and UK are putting a lot of pressure on Albania Government to crackdown on Transit of illegal immigration to EU and UK. The fact that you were with two Indians and three Egyptians didn’t help your case. In the ideal world immigration officers should be able to have the time in Vetting all entries properly but they don’t have the time and resources so they take a shortcut and simply reject and don’t take the risk. I know this is not a pleasant experience for you but wherever you go in the world you don’t take immigrations for Guaranteed
@Traveldan2 жыл бұрын
Hey man, thanks for ur comment and I really appreciate you taking the time to be thorough about it. While I agree with most of it. I will just clarify few things. Firstly, i meet the requirements and when i told them that they said the rules changed while my colleague was there a week before me and they let her in with only a 9 months UAE visa. Secondly, i was not with anybody but rather ended up with that group as we were all rejected. 3rd point, any immigration has to state the reason because otherwise it will be up officer which will disregard any rules in place. And FYI, tey did let people infront of me in with normal UAE residence visa so it was clear i was profiled and not questioned which is very wierd. I understand that some people use Albania as a way to get to EU. But my passport is filled with EU stamps, Norway, Switzerland, Netherlands, Belgium, France. I think that proves that im not planning to run away otherwise i wouldve done it while in EU. And if you listen closely. Im not attacking the country, because the people are friendly and the country has much to offer. I was clear at the beginning and end that im addressing UAE residents. Hope i did not offend you in any way 👍🙏
@ag56882 жыл бұрын
@@Traveldan I’m not offended in anyway I’m just trying to offer you some hypothetical explanations to your rejection of entry. I have to say it’s very unusual for Albania to reject someone entry. It’s not 50/50 at all like you make it sound in the video. It’s either the office was a complete idiot on some power trip ( very unusual for Albania most people are very helpful) or there is some sort of information about you that you may or may not be aware off. I think the video would have been more faire and balanced if you stack to explaining the facts to your followers Like did you have travel insurance ? Did you have a returning or exit flight ? Did you presented your travel plans to officer ? Did you present the financial requirements for the entry visa ? Meaning you could support yourself during your trip? These are there details that are factual. If you said you had all this and still got rejected then give your opinion of why and how it’s has affected you and on balance you went through this experience but it doesn’t mean everyone else will get the same experience. This would have been more fair and balanced explanations But to say it’s 50/50 it would mean half the passenger on that plane would have been rejected entry. So when you say it’s 50/50 chance is not factual it’s your opinion or your emotional opinion.
@Traveldan2 жыл бұрын
@@ag5688 impossible for half of the passengers to be rejected because not all passengers were UAE residents. Lots of locals and westerners. As for the required docs, I don't understand why you keep referring to the idea that something is wrong with MY papers. I worked in aviation for 7 years and im well cultured in travel. This is not my first time and i had the necessary documents which is what i said in the video. Requirements include everything you mentioned so i did not see the need to say them one by one. I even had hard copies of the documents including vaccination certificate just in case. Why cant you just accept the fact that the officer messed up ? Pure profiling without investigating. Man, they didnt even give me this hassle in Germany which is very strict. They asked why i was in Germany when i have a visa for netherlands, i told them transiting to Norway because of flight availability, thats it. Thank you, bye. If an immigration officer profiles you, they have to ask you. They cant just treat you like a criminal and try to belittle you. They are not ready for tourism trust me. Compared to georgia where their immigration does not smile at all but they definitely follow protocol. Simple as that.

Hey man, sorry for your experience. I just checked the visa requirements for UAE residents to visit albania and every source including the embassys say that you need a visa to travel to Albania. You can't say too people to stop visiting Albania just because you did a bad job of checking the requirements. You had a bad experience and it was your fault. Stop denying it. You say you have travelled everywhere in Europe and America but if you haven't noticed Albania isn't part of the the EU and doesn't have the same rules. You say there is a 50/50 chance of getting in but you are 100% wrong. You jut mentioned yourself that the people that were denied just like you weren't UAE residents so it doesn't have anything to do with UAE residents travelling to Albania. The other 100 people on that plane(that really checked the requirements) got in Albania so it doesn't seem like a 50/50 chance. This in insult to a whole country without any proof. Next time you will be welcomed in Albania if you get a visa. Good luck

Hey Judi, thanks for ur comment. I did check and all airlines have a system called TIMATIC where they check requirements and that system is updated daily. The airline let me pass because i met the requirements. Other than that, my colleague who works with me (Egyptian lady) went to Albania and they let her in with the exact same documentation I had. Lastly, im not telling everybody, im telling UAE residents. If they updated the policies lately thats different. But i assure you, when i went, the requirements did not mention anything abt a visa and all it says : Citizens of Morocco with UAE residence visa valid for more than 6 months will get visa on arrival. I read it with my own 2 eyes. I travelled everywhere yes and i always double check the requirements so u cant put this one on me Judi. 🙂✌

@@Traveldan You can literally do a google search and it shows it everywhere that you need a visa or an eVisa. The lady was a colleague, she lives here in UAE as a resident. Just like me. The only reason was profiling. If u read my first response to you then you can see that i indicated how all airlines check through a system called TIMATIC, the same system that the immigration has. it shows all the requirements. Maybe since many people complained they updated their terms. One of the guys with me had a Albania visa and he was still rejected because they just profiled him. Im not making it up, this actually happened. They profile heavily there but dont investigate and instead just deny people entry. Why is it so difficult for you to accept ???

@@Traveldan It is not difficult to accept. Ok let's say you are right about everything but do you really think that the same thing that happened to you happens everyday do 50% of the tourists from UAE? I assure you it doesn't because there would be a big deal about this. You can speak out and make a video about your experience but you can't say to all tourists from UAE to not go to Albania. At least you could have said "don't travel to Albania without a Visa" but no you don't want ayone to go there. You can't put your personal revenge about a bad experience because of a bad costums policeman before a whole countrie that welcomes tourists the best they can. This is the first video I have seen about this and there would be a lot more if this happened everyday.
