Albanian is indeed a fascinating language. Its origins are definitely still murky. The language is easy to pronounce and it is pretty cool to hear. I could speak quite a bit, but never really got grounded in it, primarily because every Albanian could speak Italian, unless you were in the far south, where Greek was quite common as a second or third language. I must say that it is a tough language since the verb systems are quite extensive and have have like 4 moods. There are quite a few cases and the incorporation of definiteness into words, along with cases made it a bit complicated. It also seemed like there were a lot of irregular verbs and nouns. I wish I had studied it more, and if anyone has a chance to study the language or go there, do it. Also lots of good food, and overall, despite what anyone tells you, it is quite a safe country. Thanks for the nice video!

Illyrian was not spoken from 500 BC but at LEAST 6000 BC ! I say at least cause it was a region too isolated with a non-existent written script so no one knows exactly but the Illyrians were the first settlers of Europe so it's not difficult to guess !

Poseidon (Ποσειδῶν) …has been understood as the god of drink, of river, of seas, and waters. This mistaken etymology continued from Homer to the present. In the Albanian language exists “pat”, which means to have (me “pase”=to own), which in the Greek language exist in the form of pot and pos. The word “pat”, preserves the older sound, while in Greek and Latin it changed into (o). As the other gods, Poseidon was taken from the pre-Greek tradition. If the Greek suffix is dropped (ων), the word Poseida-s is formed which can be split as follows: Pos = (possess, he who possesses=zot (in Albanian)=god I=of Das=earth; meaning, the Lord of the earth. This etymology has backing by Homer who calls Poseidon “Geehon” (γαιήογ), that is who holds, who controls the earth. (Homer, Iliad, Ken. XII, Varg. 43.) Also, Pindar, calls Poseidon “Geahon” (Γεάοχον), that is one who holds, one who controls the earth. (Pindar, Carmina, Olimpians, 13 , 79-82, face. 56, Leipzig, 1862.) Aferdita-Aphrodite (Ἀφροδίτη) According to Hesiod, Aferdita was born from foam. Plato indicated that there is no merit in contradicting Hesiod, but he thought that it was doubtful, if the name Aferdita came from the Greek word afros (άφῥς). Karl Sittl in “Theogonia” said that it is possible for the derivation to come from the Greek word afros, but it is equally possible for the name to have come from an Asiatic language. In Albanian language the adverb afr=near; the word also existed in the old Greek as “afar” (ἄφαρ). The next part of the word dita which compares to Sanskrit word dia=bright light. According to Makrobit in Saturn, Cretans called dita, dia. Most probably this dia changed to “dita” in accordance to nat-a=night (nakta in Sanskrit) by Pelasgians. Thus, from “afer” and “dita” was formed the name of Godess Aferdita (Ἀφροδίτη). According to Max Muller, in the beginning Aferdita signified the day’s dawn. It’s interesting to note in line with the Sanskrit word di-a, Albanian language has the verb u-di=ugdhi=to dawn. Konda indicates that Hesiod did not create the name Aferdite, but tried to explain on the basis of available words and evidently did not select appropriate ones. The first part, Afro, was distant from afar, but resembled, or better was identified with afron (the foam of the sea); the choice for the second component of the word, dite, was just inexplicable; he chose to go for the word dyesthai (δύεσθαι)=to dive, and anadyeshtai (άναδύεσθαι) =to rise. Apolloni-Apallo (Ἀπέλλων) To explain the etymology, Konda deals first with the name Pelasgos. Pelasg is the synthesis of Pel-as-gai, that is pel=born, as=be-is, and g=earth. A form of “as” is also “a”; “g” is the dative form of the word “ga”-“ge” which here could be the Pelasgic “de”=earth. To support this etymology, Konda indicted that in Greek dialects, “pelasg” is translated to mean “gegenes” which means to be born from earth, autochthonous. The latter could also be said, “I am born from earth” which would be the form of “A -pel-g”. To this, in later Greek was added on (ων) and forming “ Apelgon” (Απέλων). The “g” has been dropped creating “Apellon” which is easier to say. Another form of “pell” (pjell in today’s Albanian) is “poll” which appears in the name “Apollon”, translating as “am born” but essentially meaning “am born from earth.” Dionysos (Διόνυσος) God Dionys has also been referred as Deynysos (Δεύνυσος), Ζεύνυσος, Zωνυσος and Διόνυσος. The story of Dionysos can be summarized as: the son of Zeus who was reared by nymphs. The name is made up of Dio (genitive case for Zeus: Dio-s) and nysos (=Διο, νυσός). If to the latter the Greek os is dropped, nys remains; y in this word in pre-Homeric times sounded as u, that is nus, in sanskrit “snusa”, in Albanian “nuse”=nymph(in Greek). Konda says that the form Deynysos, which is made up of Dey+nysos, leads to an explaination of the etymology of the word. ”Dey” is the genitive form of the word “de” which in Albanian means “dhe”=earth. The second part of the word, “nuse”, means bride. In pre-Homeric “nyos” would have also sounded “nuse” and meant “bride”. With time the middle “s” was dropped and the word took the form of “nyos” (νυός) which was used by Homer (Illiad, III, 49). This word also connotes daughter or son. Thus, the meaning of the whole name “Dionysos” is: “son” of earth”, or “daughter of earth”, =children of earth=earthborn= ampel-os (vineyard). Hera - Here (Ηρα - Ηρη) This Goddess appears in writing of Homer and Hesiod as Here (Ηρη) and with Pindar as Hera (Ηρα). Plato tried to explain the etymology of the word “Hera” from the word erao ( = to love). He said that possibly the one that gave the name, like a meteorologist, called the air Hera… (Plato, Kratylin). Konda said that Plato’s thought that Here represents a personification of a meteorological element was correct, but he failed in explaining the etymology of the word To the point now, The word (Ηρα) in the old Greek was pronounced Era (Ερα) which in Albanian refers to the air. Konda is unsure if the exterior similarities in (Ηρα) and Albanian Era are also genetic. Rea (Ῥέα) The word appeared first in doric and eolic as Rea and ionian as Ree. Plato and others indicate that “Rea” took the name from the verb “Ῥέω“= flow. Karl Sittl (the publisher of Hesiod) indicated that Rea is the Goddess of all currents-flows. By seeking etymological explanation in Greek words, or only in the Greek language, they missed to identify the similarity in sound of “ρέειν” (reein) with that of the word Rea. In Albanian language exists the word rea (sothern variant) and reja (northern variant) which means cloud, just as in the old Greek existed Rea and Reia. If there was a case about a practice of personifying gods with the natural phenomenon and forces, Rea has all the attributes to represent re=cloud, because it is the creation of the sky and the earth. Athena (Ἀθηνᾶ) Athena according to Hesiod has wisdom. Theogen Regin indicated that Athena was herself wisdom. Aristotle indicated that Athena is attributed science and arts. Konda again looks to an Albanian word to explain the etymology of the name. He sees Albanian verb “than” =said/told and by adding article “e” the verb changes into an adjective, “e thana”=the said. In Greek language it was taken as one word, “ethana”; the “e” was assimilated by the stressed “a” at the end, transforming the word to “athana” =”athena”. Parsefoni (Περσεφόνη) There also the forms Perifona (Πηριφόνα) and Phersephassa (Φερσέφασσα). The existence of so many different forms shows how difficult it was for the Greeks to pronounce the word in their own language and suggests that the name has probably a pre-Greek origin. Konda states that Persephone was the symbol of the seed, which stays on ground for four months and then springs up above ground. And the name Phersephassa contains the Albanian word far=seed. As to how “a” changed to “e” he explained, the “a” of first syllable was assimilated by the ”e” in syllable that fallows.(just like e in epano to become apano, or, ergates became argates and ihnaria became ahnaria. The other part of the word, sefano is could not be explained.

Etymology Poseidon Cognate with Mycenaean Greek 𐀡𐀮𐀅𐀃 (po-se-da-o); possibly from a vocative *Πότ(ε)ι Δᾶς (*Pót(e)i Dâs)from πόσις (pósis, “master, husband”) and *Δα (Γῆ(Gê), see Δημήτηρ (Dēmḗtēr)) Etymology Aphrodite The theonym is found in Homer and Hesiod (ca. 8th century BCE). Apparently it is a compound, ἀφρο(aphro) + δίτη (dítē), and the traditional explanation connects the first part with ἀφρός (aphrós, “foam”).[1] There is no etymology generally accepted in scholarship. Some propose that the name in its entirety is a loan from a non-Greek language.[2][3]Older[4][5] as well as some newer studies[6] propose a Greek etymology, connecting -δίτη (-dítē) with the verb δέατο (déato, “to shine, to appear, seem”)(Homeric δῆλος (dêlos, “visible, conspicuous, clear”)) and interpret the name as originating from a epithetof the dawn goddess Ἠώς (Ēṓs). Etymology Apollo Uncertain. Possibly from Pre-Greek, or from an older, obsolete verb meaning "to drive away," as in evil (via Klein from Usener).[1] Socrates in Cratylus connects it, probably incorrectly, to ἀπόλλυμι (apóllumi, “to destroy”), ἀπολούων (apoloúōn, “washing”), ἀπολύων(apolúōn, “delivering”), ἁπλοῦν (haploûn, “simple”), and ἀειβάλλων (aeibállōn, “always shooting”). Etymology Dyoniseus Attested in Mycenaean Greek (13th to 12th century BCE) as 𐀇𐀺𐀝𐀰 (di-wo-nu-so). Dialectal variants include Διένυσος (Diénusos), Δεύνυσος (Deúnusos), Δίννυσος (Dínnusos) and others. By popular etymology often connected with Διός(Diós) (the genitive of Ζεύς (Zeús, “Zeus”)). The dio-forms are probably built by analogy from an original stem die-. The compound die-nus-os is analysed as from a verbal stem die- (from δίεμαι (díemai, “to chase, to impel”)). The nus- element gave rise to a toponym Νύσα (Núsa, “Nusa”), a mountain where the god was nursed by nymphs (the Nysiads, Nysa is also the name given to one of these nymphs). According to the testimony of Pherecydes of Syros (6th c. BCE), nusa is a word for "tree". Janda (Die Musik nach dem Chaos, 2010) suggests an original meaning of "impeller of the (world-)tree" (the axis mundi), connecting the god with archaic cosmology. The close association or indeed identity of Dionysus with a tree (especially the fig tree) is well attested in the classical period. Etymology Hera Fom Proto-Indo-European*ser- (“watch over, protect”). Cognate with Latin servō and possibly Ἥρα (Hḗros). What about all of these already known etymologies? Are they obsolete now? What about the fact that languages change over time? How come all Albanian words didnt change at all over thousands of years even though albanian from only 200 years ago even had differences to modern albanian

Persephone (Περσεφόνη)=from Greek περθω (pertho) "to destroy" and φονη=φόνος (phonος) "murder". GREEK IS THE MOTHER OF ALL LANGUAGES... Greek language It is built on mathematics, and even very few know that every word in the Greek has a mathematical background. The letters in the Greek language are not sterile symbols. Upright, upside down, with special intonation, were the total of the 1620 symbols used in Harmony (Music in New Greek). Their most important property is that each letter has a numerical value/amount, each letter is a number, so by extension, every word is a number. The German scientist who was born in 1823 and died in 1900 knew ancient languages such as ancient Arabic, ancient Greek, Persian, Sanskrit etc. If I'm not mistaken it was 1860s or 1870s when this scientist decided to visit Athens and while traveling south he got in contact with Albanian Gheg dialect speakers, guess what he said: I just hit the jackpot. P.S The scientist was Oxford's most wanted and worked there for many years. I gave you clues/hints and you tell me his name:)

Albanian language is the mother of all indoeuropean languages but KZbin historians have it all figured out that Albanian language makes no sense 🤦🏻♂️. Europeans ruined their oun ancestral history when they turned their back to Albanian history. It all starts with the Pelasgian-Illyrian history, language and traditions.

It is proven that we Albanians does orginates from the illyrians and the Albanian language is related to the illyrian language. Albanians have also names like Teuta, Agron, Bardhyll, Gents and many more, which was illyrian names and Kings and queens. These name is also still used among the Albanian people and have a meaning in the Albanian language, so well in the illyrian language also. There was also a region with the name iberia in caucausus, did all the spainards and portugese people so also come from caucausus or what?😂. Long time ago under the roman empire did they gave that region in caucausus the name Albania and Iberia. Plus we Albanians does call Albania for “Shqiperia”, not Albania. Btw Serbs and Greeks are just jealous and can’t see the reality that we Albanians orginates from the illyrians and are the oldest people in Europe! They can’t change our history and the reality!

Historians have referred to a pre-Greek population that inhabited the Balkan Peninsula, but to this day this people remains quite enigmatic. Referred to them by the name Pelasgiasn, little is known about their origin and language. Homer in Illiad indicated that they were originally settled in Epirus. Herodotus, referring to their language, indicated that it was different from Greek. Herodotus also explained that the Greeks adapted the names of “gods” from these people, that is the Pelasgians. Here is Herodotus’s elaboration: “…the Pelasgians formerly were wont to make all their sacrifices calling upon the gods in prayer, as I know from that which I heard at Dodona, but they gave no title or name to any of them, for they had not yet heard any, but they called them gods from some such notion as this, that they had set in order all things and so had the distribution of everything. Afterwards, when much time had elapsed, they learnt from Egypt the names of the gods, all except Dionysos, for his name they learnt long afterwards; and after a time the Pelasgians consulted the Oracle at Dodona about the names, for this prophetic seat is accounted to be the most ancient of the Oracles which are among the Hellenes, and at that time it was the only one. So when the Pelasgians asked the Oracle at Dodona whether they should adopt the names which had come from the Barbarians, the Oracle in reply bade them make use of the names. From this time they sacrificed using the names of the gods, and from the Pelasgians the Hellenes afterwards received them”. Being that the names of these gods had “come from the Barbarians”, the Greek language did not help to explain the etymology of the name of these gods. Some have used the Albanian language with the assumption that this language has preserved more of the elements of the Pelasgian language. One of them was Spiro N. Konda who saw the Albanians as the descendants of the Palasgians. In his book The Albanians and the Pelasgian Problem he collects an abundant source of data in an attempt to prove his theory. He also dealt with the etymology of the names of the Pelasgian gods and this analysis is summarized below. Demeter (Δημήτηρ) The name Demeter is made up of two words, from ‘de’ and ‘meter’. The word ‘de’ was pronounced ‘de’ imitially, and later it was pronounced as ‘dhe’, thus, Demeter= Dhemeter. The meaning of the compound word is indicated as Dhe, meaning in current Albanians ‘earth’, and the original IE word meter=mother (mata in Sanskrit). Thus, Demeter=Dhemeter=Earth Mother. In Greek, the pronunciation varied according to the dialects, Damater (Doric), Domater (Aeolic)… According to Diodor, Egyptian priests believed that “the earth, as the common womb of all production, they called Metera, as the Greeks in process of time…called the earth Demetra, which anciently was called Gen Metera, or the mother earth, as Orpheus attests in this verse: The mother earth, Demeter also call’d, Brings forth most richly. (Diodorus Siculus, I, p. 20, London, 1814) The Greeks were not aware of the meaning of the word ‘de’ because the compound word “Demeter” is not in Greek but in a pre-Greek language. Zeus (Ζεύς) De (see above) became de-a in feminine form and de-u in masculine form. Just like de-a is mother of all, so is de-u father of all. The Greeks took dea and deu and changed them to thea (θεά) and theos (θεάς ), respectively. But the terms had lost their original meaning of Dheu=earth and were thought of as gods/goddesses. The Latins also took the terms from the Pelasgians and added us to de, creating de-us which changed to Zeus. And, besides “the mother” was also born “Zeus, father of men and gods”, in line with the concept “earth, mother of all” (as inferred in Diodorus passage). Pausania makes the connection even clearer: Zeus was, Zeus is and will be, mighty Zeus! Earth gives us fruits, hence call on mother earth.” (Pausanias, III, Cha. X, p.135, London, 1794) The Latin version transforms “Deupater” to De-jupiter, and then to Jupiter. As the meaning of ‘Deu’ was deified, the meaning of “born from earth” changed to “born from god’. Now only the base word “Deus” continued to be used and it signified the supreme deity. Hesychius of Alexandria in his lexicon indicates that “Pellasgians called the deity ‘Dipatyron’ which in today’s Albanian appears as Perendi. Its morphology is explained as follows: If the suffix is dropped dipatyr remains, Dipatyr=Depater=De-at (which in Albanian means father). De pater corresponds to Pater-de (this use is observed in Homer (O Zeus pater… - O father Zeus…), thus, Pater=per, de=di, which join to form Per-di=Perendi. This Pelasgian word would convey the original concept of “the earth is my father”.

B is always always B and no Bh or Bp or something else! 6) You talk about Greek loan words but Albanian language has more Turkish loan words that any other language. 7) Ancient Greek loan words in Albanian might be Illyrian language words that Greek people took us ( just a hypothesis ). 8) Albanian people are autoctonus and they might live here before Proto-Indo-European people. Beside, the history of Albanians is different from a period of time to another. 9) Last but not least : Albanian language is the language which has more Latin letters than any other language! NJ - Ñ, ZH - Ž, SH - Š, XH - J, GJ - J, Ç - CH, DH - Θ, TH - ð etj. ( these are some letter that all cannot be found all together in another language except Albanian language ).This means that Albanian language is as old as its own alphabet has lost many years ago and Latin alphabet system is the only one writing system in Albanian language! And sometime it sucks because a tourist or a person who has had no relation with Albanian language may think that DH is an aspirated D, but it's not true because it is a different letter! Orion AlcId On the contrary.Prof.Spiro Konda,an albanian filologist,elaborated the theory of pelasgian descendance of the albanians.He argued his theory with the facts that the old toponymy and the names of god are decifrated through albanian, not by greek.I give you an example.Konda explains the etymology of the name ATHINA with the great presence of THANA,the albanian word for DOGWOOD.So ATHINA,ETHANA means THE PLACE OF DOGWOODS.It has nothing to do with the name of the goddes ATHINA,ATHENA that comes from the pelasgo-albanian E THENA (the saying),the nominal form of the albanian verb THEM (say,bid,order).This word explains also the name of the goddes THEMI and the egyptian god of wisdom and knowledge THOTI .THOT in albanian is the third person singular of the verb THEM.So THOTI is HE WHO SAYS (tells and teaches knowledge).You bring some good argument not stupid arguments you invent.Otherwise stay out of the balls.

Orion AlcId well doesn’t Albanian also have loan words from Ancient Greek, like before Rome? And don’t you think the only reason we have the Latin words is because they conquered our land? Just like every other country they conquered? And the first written documents doesn’t mean that’s how old the language is. I mean we found some of the first Greek written documents but we all know the language was way older than that.

Just to set things straight. Every language has it’s own unique character. If it wouldn’t have that, than learning a language would’ve been very simple. Tho it’s not. Every language is difficult, tho some more than others because of the rules in grammar. Now about the Albanian language. It is said to be one of the oldest languages and one that can not be linked with any other language. And that is very true. But, because of the modern times, a lot has change in our pronounciations and even some words are different. Tho it really is a beautiful, very ancient and difficult to learn language. Now, I’m not saying it is the oldest of all languages and I’m not saying that every other language has words originated from our language. THAT IS NOT WHAT I’M SAYING AT ALL (so don’t misunderstand). But, the albanian language has also not copied any other. It’s just a language dates back from the Illyrians that has been influenced since than to a more modern sounding language. It’s Illyrian, Balcanic and very very unique. Keep in mind that there are words similair to other words from other languages. But hearing Albanians speak, you will never know what they’re saying. Have a good day. Everyone is unique and every language is special. We need to appreciate it more. And if you are Bilingual, you are blessed! ♥️

Gje (matter/thing) Nes (start - νης)... Pangea - Pa an (without limit/entire/complete) Gje (matter/thing). Hence the Pan (half goat God that lives in forests) was equal to the Devil... he had no societal boundaries. He was also called Ipaudhi (the one with no road - or not following the proper way). And if you look closely into the different versions of each word within Albanian, you’ll realize that Albanian language conforms to the rules of ancient Egyptian and Aramaic. Ex. Geo (Γη) which means Earth only in Greek. In Albanian is Gjinë, Gji, Gjë, Gje, Gja, Gjo... all mean the same thing: thing, matter. It can be written with only consonants, and the vowel you finish with, only tells the intelligible people which tribe you belong to.
@Милошелики5 жыл бұрын
So in todays date is there essentially many dialects of albanian? Where they would say the same word differently based on their region?
@MusicOfEpirus5 жыл бұрын
Yes. Consonants the same, vowels differ. What vowels you attach to the consonants tells us which tribe you are. Today all Albanians want to act like they’re from Tirana, but all it takes is a 10 second conversation to understand where they’re really from. Examples: Mother... Nanë Naan Nonë Nënë Nenë Not all words however, but know Albanian root words. Some follow the Ancient Greek rules (not current Greek). Eye Sy Si Sij Se Where υ, οι, η are used a s “i” but have different deflections in sound that give up what family line, clan and area you’re from. Then there are some pre-Hellenic features that still exist in all of the Albanian language. Example, pre-Hellenic plurality was marked by adding -ai at the end of the word. Today this exists in everyday language mostly in the south, but in last names all over Albania. Last names example: Selim-aj (if we look past the superficial Islamic given names), Gjok-aj, Rrok-aj, ... In the south they go further to use interchangeably -aj, or e. This is an ancient Greek grammatical feature. αι is read also as ε/η... Αθην-αι/Αθήν-η. Example: i Selim-aj, i Selim-e

MusicOfEpirus thanks for the answer and explanation. So how difficult would albanian be to learn as a language? Is there any sort of dialect which is most common or recognizable? Or does the dialect not make much of a difference when speaking/reading.
@MusicOfEpirus5 жыл бұрын
There are two main common versions of Albanian spoken today. Literary and Slang. Literary is heavily influenced by the Tosk dialect of Gjirokastra (but not as heavy as the actual dialect), with some elements from all parts of Albania. Slang is the dialect of Tirana, which is a form “southern” Ghegh. You’re better off to learn literary Albanian, because there are resources to learn with, though it’s not the most original. The original Albanian language is Ghegh, however Ghegh is not written and has mistakenly been branded (by not so bright Albanians) as slang.

There are two oversights in this video: 1) a reference to the Balkan Sprachbund (linguistic features shared by Albanian, Bulgarian, Greek, and Romanian); 2) sharing basic common words, a similar syntax and grammatical aspects uniquely with Romanian. These common words appear to be shared between the Tosk dialect and Romanian. So, Albanian is not quite isolated… and the Albanian linguists are fully aware of the Albanian-Romanian connection.

What i , as an Albanian know is that..... Before the Greeks and the Latins there was another population which used to live in caves ( under earth ) but used to be very clever with the stars to navigate them selves and great sailors. The reason they never did living on the grown was because they believed that earth would suck their illnesses and bad energy off their body and they would live longer. They had their own language which we believe it was this Albanian language today ( mostly words about nature, beauty subjects, Body parts remain of the ancient ) , a lot labour words were changed through empires invading it. As far as i know these population spoke the same language but different dialects. The southern and the northerns dialects spoke so different that ... after thousands of years , they have come with a written formal language which i would say is the “ Ancient Greek”. You call it ancient Greek but it really is not very ancient comparing it to the actual existence of this population of the todays Albania and to the old Greeks and the actual existence of the original language it self (shqip) . The Eagles language. Its so ancient that it may be linked to the first Jews and the first Egyptians. Thoti of Egypt . Has a birds head. In Albanian Thoti means . Spoke ..... and the “ I” it tells us that it was a male. Jew language has so many word similarities to that of The Eagles. Albania is one of the rare nations where .... The land is called Shqiperia, Shqiptar , Shqiponje. The land, People and flag are the same representation. Their ancient names . Illiria means - Free people. The freedom. Freedom in the form of feminine . Pelasgi - Shpellagi - Cave man. People that live in caves or houses in the ground. One of the first populations pn earth are called “ N-Fillim”. In the language of the Eagle , in the Language of Thot-i. Which he was the one to speak first. N-Fillim means The First ones, At the Start. Fyll- Zënë Fyell. Ne Fillim. ( in the start). I think that there has not been enough studying on the Albanian language and its people. All the countries around us and to our level of history such as Greece, Egypt , Israel ..... They have done 10000 times more research on their own language and history then Albanians have. Albanians have in fact done nothing. Other nations have done the research for us, even that bit that its done. Which comes to a fair conclusion to say that this is not fair . Once you guys do the same research on the Albanians , then we can talk of Ancient. We have come to the point where everything Greece finds comes with Albanian meanings, The gods Names of Greece with Albanian meaning and yet no one says a word. Yes they are in the todays land where greece is but that does not mean that the people walking on top of that land are the actual ones. How come allllllll that history that greeks have made up and have made it theirs..... they don’t mention or include any other nation?! Was it JUST them on this planet?!😂. This is just not right ! Something is not fair and right. If the Greeks really want to prove them selves right .... they need to be open, not scared and fair to everyone. If i have nothing to hide why should i be scared and angry?! Greece is scared of Albania and angry with it. They dont allow you to speak Albanian in there, to have an albanian flag , any kind of albanian : illyrian symbol. Which means ? This is just not right ! Even through recent histories .... Alexander the great had the goat as one of his symbols, phyrros of Epirus had it too and Scanderbeg passed it on. Every country Scanderbeg used to aid with Army ..... or traveled with .... would be no more then 300 at a time .... What was he symbolising ? What i am trying to say is that ... through out history we Albanians have passed gestures on by Kings and Warriors . Greece just shows up with their flashing money and claims all of it in the last 100 years ! When we albanian have actually done the job, the wars, the gestures, the gesture it self . Its just jot fair. All needs to be checked well and fair. Vatican , Turkey and China should make their archives available for historians to read . Thats where you would find big balls history.

For analfabetes! Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Catalan, Bask, Romanian (new Rome in albanian) come from Latin language. Latin itself come from albanian language. Albanian itself come from Etruscan language. Albanian is mother of all European languages. English is 1000 years only. German is 1500 years old. I challenge you: 1) what word Europe mean in your mother language?! 2) what world Aleksander means in your mother language?! 3) what word Aferdita mean in your mother language?! Ps: All this words have meaning in albanian language only....

What do you mean no sourse to compare Illyrian to Albanian , Modern albanian has 600 illyrian words . Albanian uses some latin , slavic and greek words because of the historical influences neighboor nations , and some ottoman words but mostly used by elders and they are not usually in the official vocabolary . So u might find some rare albanians who instead of saying Natë/Nata for Night , they gonna say “Aksham” that is a ottoman word to say night . But as i said 1% does this

Mik is used in one dialect, what about shok, (shoqe,shoqeri) is there an other language that comes close? There’s is many dialects in Albania! Sense the beginning of time till recently, you could tell if that person was from an other town, even only 20 kilometers away, because the way they spoke, but yet they could communicate even at that time, using different words, ( mik/shok=friend). Being old Europe, is the central, where most European language developed, so many tribes where formed and developed there own dialects. As this tribes migrated they developed their own languages from this dialects. So Albanian is not the weird sister but the Grand-Grand-Grandmother of European Languages. (Just my Opinion)

Your video states a part of truth, because there are a lot of inaccuracies and misunderstandings. For example, if one can see the English word "reorder" (re + order), meaning "to put in order again" or "a new order of s.m.th.", is nothing more than the word "order" with an Albanian language word as a preposition. The same thing happens with Italian language (a derivative of Latin) were the preposition "re" is written and pronounced like the Albanian word "ri". There are o lot of other examples that shows Albanian language is not a derivative of known Ancient languages. You better take a look at "Albanesishce studien" of Dr. Johan Georg von Han, and you'll learn further more about Albanian and its place in the tree of languages (Regarding the tree, I haven't forget the nominative "Indo-European")...

BTW, the Greek letter δ (delta) also nowadays sounds more or less like the English "th" in the word "the". And please stop killing the bees, they are useful insects. Besides, what can also make Albanian strange is that words that look like having an Indo-European origin may mean something completely different ; we have motër/motra, which means... sister, as you said, but when you first meet the word "jo", you certainly will think it means "yes" (ja in German, ya in Breton, etc... well, it means "no"'! ('yes" is "po"). When you encounter "unë", you think: ah OK, this surely means "one"; actually, it means "I". Other words first look like English, German, Italian, French etc. (about 50% of the vocabulary is not Albanian anyway, and the same with Basque). Look at "shënim" (a note): doesn't it look like Hebrew? (it is not). Others look typically Albanian, for ex "shkëlqyeshëm" (remarkable, wonderful, etc.) but perhaps this one is related to "excellent" ? Hard to say. Some even look like Inuit, for ex "nuk" (not). What is terrible to me is the constant use of particles and pre-poned and/or post-poned articles, and you never know the one that should be used (e ? i ? u ? whatever ?) They also merge some small words following each order, so you can get things like "tju", which seems to me to be a fusion of "të" and "ju" (not sure). They have cases, of course, and the conjugation may be a nightmare concerning the more useful verbs '(to have, to be, to say, to eat...) : could you imagine that "kishim ngrenë" is a form of the verb "ha" (to eat ; kishim is a form of "kam", to have) and means "we had eaten" ? (by the way, they have no infinitive...) But they also have an "admirative" mood (I swear!). As they say : Shqip ? S'ka problem (Albanian ? No problem), because "s'" means the same as "nuk" (not) (but for imperative and other situations, you should use "mos"... Look for instance at that Albanian translation of Dostoievski : "E shoh që ty po të torturon mendimi që unë të mos i them gjë Julian Mastakoviçit, - dhe s'kam për t'i thënë, asgjë s'kam për t'i thënë, ti vetë ke për t'ia thënë." It means "I see you're tormented by the thought that I shouldn't say anything to Julian Mastakovic, - and I have nothing to say to him, nothing at all, you must tell him yourself." Good luck! 😄

you are confusing Hellenic with Greek. Greek is like British & Hellenic is like English. Hellenic came to Europe (Greece) from Asia
@713ca5 жыл бұрын
@Random Greek no, Albanians are Greek Illyrian/Pelasgian. It's all written in the ancient scriptures. The first Greeks are Hellenized, meaning they were not Hellenic. Not all Greeks are Hellenized though.
@713ca5 жыл бұрын
@Random Greek To say Greek language is like saying British or American language. So I am guessing you are referring to Hellenic. It is believed Hellenic split of with Armenian long ago in what is today Asia-minor and like Latin, they spread culturally around the area, including Grecia-proper were they mixed with the native, Illyrian/Pellasgian and fused a great culture together that would give birth to many great things.
@713ca5 жыл бұрын
Persians are Aryan as well, that does not make them European. Look, I understand why you are so misinformed about many things, many things I stated are not known by most Albanian historians as well. But I base my findings on concrete evidence. www.davidrumsey.com/rumsey/Size4/D5005/3023004.jpg Southern Illyrians are Greek. Find me one map made before 18th century that shows Greece to be in south Thace or Anatolia or Pontus or other historically Hellenic regions?! Find me one! Link please! On the contrary, every map out there points to continental Greece/Grecia, that includes Albania proper (South of Kotor, Montenegro) including Dardania, Macedonia/Emathia, Epirus, Thessaly and down to Peloponnese/Morea. Some Include Crete, others don't. But that's all. After the formation of the Greek state, history was written in a different way, and partly out if ignorance and partly out of malevolent intent, Greek and Hellenic started to mean the same thing, and that is not true. It would be like people confusing Americans with Americans from USA. It's easy to mix up, especially when you are not from America (Continental,) but the Mexicans don't confuse it. Neither do I. I am a Greek Illyrian - NOT HELLENIZED!
@713ca5 жыл бұрын
@Random Greek Than why did the west tell Otto, the first King of the Greeks that he must not be called King of the Hellenes when he took the throne?! What you know is blurred with a lot of misinformation, as I stated earlier. I call you Hellenes, and properly educated people like me do the same. Uneducated and ignorant people may even say "he speaks British" but that is ridiculous.
