@BlizzardRoach you were the one to bring it up. Folk music indeed has nothing to with politics. I'll explain something to you, as I am something of a folk musician myself too. First of all, when cultures live side by side they always influence each other. For examlpe there are romanian elements in hungarian folk art, and there are hungarian elements in romanian folk art as well. That is not stealing, that is the consequence of living together.

Ardit, allow me to make just one little correction if I may. The urban music of Gjakove is actually very similar to Greek urban music, not the Turkish. The sound in Albanian and Greek music is much longer, and in Turkish music both the sound of the instrument and the vowels are much much shorter, and the singing is different....

There is not such thing as " macedonian" music. This is celtic like music, nothing to do with oriental turkish music.

@BlizzardRoach Similarly, all the nations of the Balkan have been influenced by turkish art, as the terrytory was under turkish occupation for 500 years. At least the majoroty of the Peninsula. Now this shows in music, language (tonnes of turkish words in serbian, albanian, macedonian), clothing, etc...

@narancsleWilhelm believe me, they do steal music and history .. the fyromians arent the real macedonians ... the real ones spoke a language almost similiar to albanian but they mixed with slavs and bulgars ^^ ... but lets not talk about politics - its about the music here
