What also upsets me is when the RNLI (a public charity) are having to appeal for donations as their funds are running low. Probably because many in the UK are against them having to help the migrants crossing! And of course, these dedicated volunteers are having to risk their lives too!

They were the only charity that my family donated to via direct debit. My dad is an ex Royal Marine and he had the upmost respect for them. The donation was £10 a month, then without warning it went up to £50. Dad called them to find out what had happened and they said that they reserved the right to put donations up without any form of consent or warning. Needless to say, we no longer donate.

I worked for an NGO dealing with migrants over a decade ago. I didn't get the big picture at the time, I neeeded a job that one came my way. EVERYONE in the 'charity' was receiving a salary. Top bosses were getting a handsome salary, tax free!

If everyone signed gov.uk petitions re suspend immigration for 5 years it would change. About time pensions were the equiv of 12 gbp hr as on petition, please would anyone consider signing. I dont know what i did wrong working up to 20 hr days often 7 day weeks 5 hr bus commutes to stay out of debt. My gp said add my poor health is due to condition I now find myself in. I dont want to make it to pension age. They ve made sure most dont get pensioncredit the pension is now taxed. I ll be paying up to 1k for a tiny room. I wont be able to pay a bill or eat.
