Marina is such an amazing artist! Greece has a top 3 material this year.

Thank you for your reaction... Title of the song in english is : In Naousa's Castle... Naoussa is a city in north greece and its a Macedonian 🇬🇷 song... This song is a very old traditional song and it is about the women of the city who fell into the river with their children and lost their lives, so that the Turks would not take them as slaves in 1821.

When ESC asks you to submit another (only one) song to be posted in their channel, apart from the contesting song (in this case Zari) and you (Marina) are choosing to send THIS song, you have to be a really DARING person! Someone might say that she blew her chance ... because the song is not one of her previous big hits and not a cover of a song everybody knows and of a really top and world renowned singer. Instead this is a Traditional Greek Song! Nobody outside of Greece has ever heard of it, right? Marina "rolls her dice" and decides to be brave and pick this song, and not another known to the public and thus more easily appealing to them. Now what's more ... The song is about the sacrifice of the women of Naousa (region of Imathia, Macedonia Greece, near Thessaloniki) by jumping (while carrying their babies in their laps) in the waterfall of Arapitsa river so as not to be slaved by the Ottoman Turks who had just conquered the city. They fell from the highest point of the city, which is the Castle (Kastro in Greek). That happened on April the 22nd of 1822. The song was posted on April the 20th of 2024. That is to say 2 days before the commemoration of this tragic but hugely heroic event. Coincidence? I absolutely do not think so ... After that, who (really) cares who's winning Eurovision 2024. I've personally had huge respect for Marina as an artist before that, and also as a person. As of now I do not have words to describe the magnitude my admiration for her! I'm simply utterly in awe!
