Back in the 80's I used to be a robotic dancer and toured with a show. We went through the UK and abroad. I headlined the show and my theme music was Blue Monday by New Order. It warms the heart to see these dancers still performing this style of dance. Some of them are truly incredible and have taken it to new heights! I'm still very fit for my age and this makes me want to perform again. Some old robots can still dance.

This is a SICK SICK SICK SICK compilation. I'm 51 and I tried break dancing like most kids in the early 80s. This touches me way down deep. Who ever mixed these dance segments to safety dance is BOSS!!!!
@FrankStein14 ай бұрын
Sorry ... " most" kids didn't try this in early 80's this was late 80's . Early 80's was just getting past disco and you were either into rock or country. Hip hop didn't have a large following until late , late 80's. Even then most were ostracized as being wannabees. They put on hats backwards and dropped their pants thinking they were cool , meanwhile everyone just thought how stupid they were.
@EllaKournikova123411 ай бұрын
This is a great song..The 1980s will never be the same again..There was something different and melody about songs that separated them from today .. I am not going to bash music from today because there is still some great songs out there, however the ecclectic style aif music and colorful fashion from the 1980s left it's legacy.
@robinconnor60933 жыл бұрын
I'm old enough to have been around for the birth of both of these and I just realized that locking and popping or "doing the robot", as they said back in the day, is what evolved into dubstep. I have a lot of respect for dancers who can dubstep, I mean the absolute muscle strength it takes geesh 😯

When break dancing came out in the 1980’s I was in my 30’s so I really didn’t give it a lot of notice back then. This video shows some amazing athletes preforming to music. I’ve always enjoyed robotic dancing but from its inception, I’ve always loved the athleticism and danger element in break dancing to near obsession. I grew up in the 80s got into it shortly after it began. It was banned in my high school because during the lunch break a couple guys and I would grab sides of cardboard boxes and start showing off our dance moves behind the school’s cafeteria till the day one of the guys popped his shoulder while performing a spin. I spent the 90s backup dancing for recording artists and danced on a couple televised dance shows and in clubs throughout LA. Good times. Great memories. It’s awesome to see these kids doing their thing and putting their own stamp on it.

What impresses me the most about the Robotic style is that they do their crazy moves without momentum behind them. Break dance of course is crazy athletic and powerful, but making it look like your legs run on servos when you power up from a prone position on the floor to standing in a smooth motion, that is some next level strength and control.

Love this video and love this song it reminds me of the times when my girlfriend had a baby and her baby could break dance and break dance good before he could even walk so wherever we go he just do it like in the middle of the mall and everyone would just stop and go wow but he couldn't walk yet but he can do some incredible moves this video reminded me of it
