They all did great. Those are not easy moves. Takes a lot of practice and muscle control to do what they have accomplished. It’s art and they put their hearts in it.

🎉 The robot dance was popular in the middle 70's. Even had a TV series about it in the United States. Watching from coastal Mississippi 👋

The dance that mixes different styles creates a new and surprising inspiration, beautiful and technologically advanced, including incredible strength of the body that is so wonderful.

It reminded me at least ten years ago of the Danish talent show. There were two people dancing the robot dance, and in my opinion, this person and others imitated them even in the music or the melody section of the dance. They were amazing.

The robot first became famous when a couple of mimes named Shields and Yarnell began a sketch comedy routine about a married couple of robots called The Clinkers around 1976. Their act became wildly popular on variety shows like The Ed Sullivan Show, where they became a regulars. They skyrocketed to the big time when CBS gave them their own variety show under the names The Shield And Yarnell Show in 1977-78. The robot miming was unique to them at the time, something not seen by more famous mimes like Red Skelton and Marcel Marceau. This kind of made them a one trick pony because all of the rest of their act was the same old mime’s schtick like walking against wind, trapped in invisible box and climbing a horizontal rope, like Batman. Once the novelty of the robot act wore out, the couple got divorced in the early 1980s and fell into obscurity over the next few years. Lorene Yarnell passed in 2010, but Robert Shields is still with us. I don’t know if they invented the robot dance or whether they were just the first to bring it fame?
