Simple. If he didn’t push Brady out, it’s still have a job.
@Flannman918 ай бұрын
Why are people stunned? His teams have struggled due to roster mismanagement and he wants total control (GM role included) in his next job. An existing GM or President of Football Ops is going to hire a guy like that? Nope. Not unless Belichick gives up GM duties.
@christianjames928 ай бұрын
Not only roster mismanagement he cannot draft or develop offensive talent anymore.

people seem to forget that he wanted to Trade Gronk, noway we win that last SB if he trades gronk

Not that wild Bill did the ultimate self sabotage I’ll be surprised if he gets a job next season

I simply don't understand why people are finding it hard that he doesn't have a job. He systematically and slowly destroyed the patriots over the course of the last 5 years through his arrogance of believing coaching is more important than talented players

Knowing Atlanta and the atmosphere there...........I'm not surprised!

Vrabel shouldnt be jobless. He should be a coach at the very least a DC
@christianjames928 ай бұрын
When you're a head coach who cannot scout or develop offensive players in an offensive heavy league you're fucked. Vrabel and Bill simply have not shown the last 3 or 4 years the ability to pick staff or develop offensive players. Hell the Titans even defensively were essentially middle of the road both at pass and rush defense and that's Mike's side of the ball. Being a big name means nothing.

Oh no! Now, they have to struggle through retirement with millions in the bank?!?!?! Where can i donate?
@anthonyrose37398 ай бұрын
It’s not about the money. It’s the fact that a great coach in Vrabel might not coach and the greatest coach of all time in Bill, also might not be coaching because there’s no interest. It’s crazy.

Breer is the master of recycling other people's work after the fact. What new thing did he add during that entire segment? He's always "talking" to people yet has never broken a story in his life. Stop putting him on air. He's a hack.

Bill is suffering from the failures of Bill the GM, AND he’s 72! It’s pretty clear that the NFL owners are going in the direction of youth, the ability to develop players, and innovation. Bill over the past decade really has a poor record in all three areas!

Yup, 1000% correct

I think part of the issue that isn't getting talked about here is that Bill appears to be a fossil in the league. He is still coaching, drafting, and organizing like he has Brady and it's 2010. He has not adapted to what the league is right now, at all. It's an offensive heavy league, and yes the best way to win against good offense is with great defense. You still need a measure of both, and he proved what can be done in the super bowl against the Rams. But he doesn't have the personnel to do that and can't seem to find it anymore. He is terrible with drafting and signing offensive personnel. After the past 6 years on display, why would any team hand over complete control to him? They would be insane to do that.
@DeronGM8 ай бұрын
The Jets would .. after they fail in 2024 after another collapse and Saleh/Douglas get fired and Woody Johnson becomes very desperate for a ring.
@vivianlafitte2658 ай бұрын
Why would any team hire a coach that wants total control of personnel , and he hasn’t help develop the players he has now. They paid Devante Parker an extension..; he gave away Jakobi Meyers for Ju Ju… he set Mac Jones up to fail.. Trent Brown, really? And BB is old school and it doesn’t mix well with the young players. He was great with Brady.. but after he let Brady walk, he went downhill. He needs to take a year off and maybe be on a sports show talking football. BB, go enjoy some quiet time, focus on yourself and get some rest. Come back next year refreshed.

The pats should bring in Vrabel as an assistant head coach if he’s free

Kraft made Jimmy G get traded which was the next in line to take the reigns, Pats going for a decade of failure as Bill wont be covering for his dumb meddling

I also think that vrabel is being slightly overrated. I'm not sold on him as being a great hc. Maybe he is....but hes unproven. Belichick? Please. Forget about it. For people that are apparently "stunned" about Belichick....have they not been watching the NFL over the past few years? Amean really. Stunned is not a word that I would use to describe that. Like, am I surprised that maybe 1 team didn't really go after him? Maybe. I guess thinking that 1 team would want him is reasonable...but beyond that....I don't understand why anyone would be stunned that it wouldn't be more than 1.

Now I know this will never happen BUT hear me out: The Dolphins DC just went to Philadelphia (btw Vic Fangio with that defense scares me. If I'm a qb I'm calling in sick on eagles gameday) and I'm pretty sure is still open. Imagine Bill Belichick JUST coaching the defense. No front office or offense to worry about, just the greatest defensive mind in history coaching his defense (and maybe drafting a 6th round corner because he's really good at turning them into pro bowlers) while Mike McDaniels handles the offense. That team might actually go 17-0
@georgen58828 ай бұрын
That's a bit much. As a pure DC he could be good, but you are giving him way too much credit overall. The dolphins shot themselves in the foot because the offense struggled sown the stretch, and it really shouldn't have. They have so much talent on offense and just can't pull it together. Maybe the head coach is actually part of the problem, and fixing the defense won't really do much until the offense is better? The dolphins should be a powerhouse team right now, and they aren't.

(just came to my mind) yeah, im guessing it would be kindof like how wade philips went, he didnt do too much as head coach at the cowboys, but oh boy his defense at the broncos and rams were pretty neat. i want to also add that wade also complained a couple of years ago very loudly that there's no more room in the nfl for 70+ year old coaches
@Eggy798 ай бұрын
Why is it wild? Bill Belichick has always been a mediocre coach, he just had Brady and/or Parcells players to cover up his lack of actual skills on offense.
