As long as the Bears hire a head coach that has experience in managing a game in context. No more of these coordinators learning to be a head coach on the fly ...again.

Bears problem is the owners….they never cared about the team or winning. It has been about their silver spoons and signing ‘yes’ men.

@@jimsnyder6310 I don’t want to sound mean, but your reply is not making sense. The Bears are the cash cow….the McKaskeys were born into this. Micheal, who has passed away, got rid of Ditka and brought it personal and coaches that would be censored easily. It has not changed since then because Ted Phillips was quietly in charge. He was a complete flop for decades but ran it the way the McKaskeys wanted it run. All GMs and coaches they could censor. They did this by bringing in guys (losers) that were first timers and grateful for the opportunity. They brought in guys with experience but they had to be soft spoken. I know the history and I know the failures.

That's why they hired Kevin Warren and Ryan Poles. They were supposed to know how to run a franchise.

Why do people always blame McCaskey, no matter what happens? This gets old. Did McCaskey hire Poles in bad faith? He had a pretty good resume? All the blame for the current state of affairs should be on Eberflus, Poles, and don't forget Pace, who made the worst trade and pick in the history of football, moving up a spot to take Trubisky instead of Mahomes, and giving up a number one the next year, all while he could have easily had either of those qb's staying put at pick three.

I know Kliff has a good relationship with Caleb but we want to help the TEAM. Although we have to get Caleb coached up it’s not all about Caleb. It’s about an overall culture! Reasons why Ben Johnson will shun Bears. 1. Lions will fall short this year due to injuries and they will bend over backwards with $$ to keep him for another run. 2. He is worth $$$ if he wins super bowl as a OFF cord. 3. He will not want to be in same div as the head coach who gave him the opportunity. To many other chioices. Watch out for Dallas. 4. The McCaskey family org is a train wreck and has been for decades....

@THG-3141 Ай бұрын
@KP99 yes. Because Mahomes wouldn't have been Mahomes in Chicago. He would have looked like Caleb right now. The QB matters, but the coach matters even more (unless it's Brady). Great coaching takes Alex Smith to the SB. Bad coaching results in wasting greatness like Cincinnati is doing this year. So yes, fkn up this decision would be an even bigger mistake than passing on Mahomes

@jimsnyder6310

@@jimsnyder6310 So it worked out well? Eberflus really helped the offense? Or was his great knowledge of offensive football that spurred him to hire Shane Waldron? No, it didn't work out at all. Inexperience also a factor of course as you could tell from terrible clock and game management, as was poor leadership skills. Caleb is the only hope for this franchise and not hiring an offensive guru would be insanity. But of course being the Bears, that is just what they might do. Heck, they hired Eberflus who was about to get fired by the "all powerful" Colts. Poles is no better. And that opinion is 180 degrees from what I used to think. Two good moves, getting Sweat, and the big trade with Carolina. After that, horrendous, from the draft all the way to hiring coaches.

Speaking as a Lion’s fan, I don’t think Ben would do it, considering the situation. And he and A.G. have both said multiple times that they aren’t going anywhere, until they’re in the locker room on a February night, hoisting the Lombardi trophy 🏆, and getting sprayed with champagne 🍾 But, on a another note, Pete Carroll knows how to beat the Lions 🦁 This season’s win over the Seahawks was the first time in forever for Detroit. Just saying.

Say what you want about Matt Eberflus, ownership, and Ryan Poles, but the Bear's were right there with the Commanders, Vikings, Packers, and Lions before Eberflus was fired. The Bears should have won all those games if it weren't for Jaylon Johnson, Cairo Santos, Cairo Santos again, and Teven Jenkins. And, remember, this is still a Bears Team that is under construction and not an all-out break the bank roster. So, are the Bear's really that bad? Actually they were doing fairly well before Eberflus got fired. People are way overreacting by saying the whole roster needs to be rebuilt.

I truly enjoy your analysis of things pertaining to football, esp. BEARS. I agree with that decision as well. A coach with a "proven" track record of winning success. Someone who is adaptable to the team and and its personnel. Leadership with a sense of structure and discipline. Bears organization is a "circus with no real direction." Hence, the selling of the team. No coordinators with HC aspirations need to apply especially with no previous HC experience. Vrabel, Carroll, McCarthy and Flores come to mind. Kingsbury, has the QB relationship but his HC stint is questionable. If you're going to go with coordinators with HC aspirations, I would take Ben Johnson or Glenn. Gruden, has too many "PR" issues to be truly considered. Then there question marks regarding Ryan Poles and his future. Alignment in management is surely needed from top to bottom. Poles decisions on personnel overall has been very noticeable from the draft to free agency. The team has been built from the outside in and we are seeing the results of this philosophy. Caleb, it a rookie who will make rookie mistakes. He certainly needs to play better but he's a certified QB for us. The organization is failing him by not setting him up for success in all sectors. Team talent is overated and expectations are way too high. The problems within Halas Hall should been dealt with before drafting Caleb not after. We are (4-10) because we are team that is still rebuilding. No excuses! Hail Mary passes don't cause this type of team collapse. Breer, use this info from a true Bears than that "actually " watch the games. Peace!

There is no Harbaugh or Peyton to save the Bears this cycle. All we have is dart throws at unproven guys or guys who were fired for eventually stinking up the place. We better hope we at least can get a Fangio-type to bring the defense back up to standard. Because HC and OC are gonna be a crapshoot, no matter who we hire. I don't think Ben Johnson is the savior Bears fans assume he is. You gotta realize he was working with a seasoned QB vet and a stacked roster of playmakers. This is not the 2024-2025 bears team.
