The only source of knowledge is experience.
We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking
we used when we created them.
Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.
I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this
but have expressed it clearly.
The idea of a personal God is an anthropological concept
which I am unable to take seriously.
When the solution is simple, God is answering.
The intuitive mind is a sacred gift
and the rational mind is a faithful servant.
We have created a society that honors the servant
and has forgotten the gift.
A human being is a part of the whole, called by us Universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest-a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole nature in its beauty.
