Damn. We use the term "mob mentality" as a negative term nowadays, but back then, it seemed like the new fad. Unless I'm perceiving this all wrong, it seems to me like he genuinely believed that the population would ultimately make the right decisions for the greater good. But in today's America, that couldn't be farther from the truth. We let him down.

Correction, he said, "exaggerated" nationalism. Nationalism alone isn't a bad thing. It's good to have a sense of patriotism and love for our nation. Humanism could be dangerous because it opens the doors to feelings and blocks out factual reasoning. We aren't citizens of the world. We have a nation.

I immediately thought of the weak and hesitant response of NATO in helping Ukraine today when Einstein was talking about the importance of allied democratic nations to show solidarity and willingness to sacrifice when opposed to what should be a shared enemy. We're still having that problem, perhaps even worse today.
@Skyscraper1256 ай бұрын
Much of the world is still affected to this very day by the acts of WW2, and we are shaped by that war now 80 years later as much as the people were then when it was happening. Moral *strength* comes from the willingness to do the hard thing that you know is right but will be a pain in the ass to do. That's why there isn't any solidarity in the world of democracies today. Nobody, not even 'murica is willing to put their foot forward and take a hit on the chin for the betterment of the human race. Most all democracies are becoming plutocracies, and the only hit they're willing to take is for the sake of money.

I don’t have to think about how smart he may have been, his work is beyond proved. Thanks to Einstein your exact energy value can be calculated to the exact decimal thanks to general relativity. Let me ask you, what have you done that you believe your intelligence comes within range of questioning the father of our understanding of physics as a collective species? If you believe he was wrong, there are ways you can go about to challenge his work and prove you own. Publish some of your own work, Mr scootor.

Not only are the things He did almost all smart, but very smart. So in quality & quantity, in both regards he is very intelligent not 'only' as an inventor but in kinda all regards. Even the maybe 'bad' things as making contracts like Sheldon in BBT, or rather probably vice versa. A lot of women are indeed overpowered in their position except maybe being as fit in some regards as men on average biologically. So even if other ppl, minds would be the actual Big players, he is at least very smart & wise overall. Even e.g. his name is an indicator of intelligence
