I miss Albert Wesker, stupid move for killing him off. Wesker was involved with almost every biohazard in the series before 2009. Don't be surprised if they resurrect Wesker the way they created the fake Ada Wong in RE6. Albert Wesker was not the original creator of the T-virus. James Marcus originally created the virus by splicing leach dna with the mother virus. Wesker with Birkin succeeded in creating the Hunters and Tyrant.

Its fiction, if they can kill and bring back Superman and Batman, Gandalf or Shao Kahn for example, they can do the same for him. He deserved a better send off than what 5 gave him. Then again it seems when Mikami left after 4, the people who were left at Capcom didnt know what to do with resident evil's story and it got a little out of hand, not to mention became more holywood-like.

Resident Evil, despite many views to the contrary, has both amazing characters and storylines. The series has since its inception back with the Mansion Incident in the 90s ('98 chronologically in the story but actually made in '96). Albert Wesker is one of, if not THE, best of those great characters.

That's an interesting catch. The sad thing about the ending of Re5 is the opening song "pray" is played. It wasn't a coincidence they played that right after Wesker's death. The lyrics are entirely themed around the outbreak and humanity losing hope, but the last line "eternal sleep is where you'll find true peace." It's like that was capcom's way of saying goodbye to Wesker..

Albert Wesker's journey as a character is simply amazing. Did any of us (including myself, a huge fan of the character) ever imagine we'd one day battle him inside an active volcano as the supreme, ultimate boss of the series essentially? He went from your typical double-crossing mole to essentially one of the most brilliant and opportunistic villains in video game history. He was cheesy as fuck, but looked awesome while being so and kicked so much ass. The series is certainly not the same without him.

Since his demise at the hands of his most hated arch nemesis, Captain Chris Redfield, the #RE series was never the same. :( While the later games are still a lot of fun to play through, they lack in compelling villains, and Albert Wesker is, without question, one of the all-time greats!
