The story about the murder song (my favorite). Aurora wrote this song after reading about a "murder" in the paper near her homeland. A man killed his wife/girlfriend out of love. She was seriously ill and suffered more every day. He released her from suffering. The song is sung from the perspective of the woman's ghost. Maybe he killed her with her consent (I hope so) or he made the decision on his own. No idea. And this is for me her darkest Song. You will only find this explanation of this song in one interview with her (and no unfortunately I don't have a link for that one particular statement from the tons of interviews she's given. So believe it or not 🙂). It's not written anywhere else. And usually she doesn't explain her songs that specifically either, because she wants everyone to find their own story in them. This way songs stay interesting longer. That's why I also believe that this explanation was just an accident. It was also just a brief side note on a question asked, by the way. She usually only says to the song it is a true tragic love story that doesn't end well. It should be said that this News was an inspiration for this song. That doesn't have to mean that the song itself is about it. But since it all fits together, I think so. Of course, it is written in such a way that many interpretations are possible. Just like Aurora actually always does. I would recommend "I went to far" live at the Honda stage. At the beginning she also says what this song is about and, as always, is very funny.

Her performance of this at the 2015 Nobel peace prize concert is exceptional. She was just 19! I recommend you watch her live performances, not just videos (although they are amazing), especially her concert at Nidarosdomen. She’s one of the few artists I would recommend that you do a bit of research on the inspiration for her songs, knowing ahead of time can make many of them a lot more powerful as you watch and react. One example is The Little Boy in the Grass. Also, two fantastic videos to watch are Queendom and The Seed.

Please listen to her performance of "It Happened Quiet (Live at The Current)". I already liked her before, but I finally listened to this whole song tonight and I've formed a mini-obsession with watching other people hear it for the first time. Give me another one to watch! There's another performance of this song at "Nidarosdomen", but she doesn't have the back-up harmonizing vocalist (who has a gorgeous voice of her own!) in that one. This is the one to watch. The song was inspired by an article she read about a man who killed his wife to free her from terrible pain due to a terminal illness, that would not end until she died.
@Morpholaf3 жыл бұрын
There are two interpetations of this song; The official goes whith the theme of a dear friend killing this person with a terminal decease. It could also be interpeted as someone who decides who is worthy to live out of their own belief or agenda. In either way, the victim absolutes them. Either out of love, or personal need..
