The Mexican architect Alberto Kalach designed Assembly for the artist Bosco Sodi.
The contemporary art gallery is in a former car dealership in Monticello, New York. Years of renovations were stripped away to create an open plan and to reveal the original wood and steel roof structure, as well as the brick and the concrete. The old materials make a wonderful contrast with the art. On display when we visited was the work of international artists rescued from storage.
Until they make a cafe at the gallery, we grabbed a smoothy nearby at the Green Shack.
