Albrecht Dürer - Rhinoceros Print

We really enjoyed looking at this print for our lesson today. Seeing a variety of Durer's other work was incredible! Having a very slight introduction to woodcutting, even my kids could start to appreciate the intricate detail. But our favorite part was the fascinating history lesson that went with the rhinoceros print! Before, it was just an inaccurate picture of an African animal, but afterwards it was a friendly beast we want to hang on our own wall. Thank you for bringing this to life for us!

Thanks Heidi! Durer is my favorite artist and I'm always coming back to his engravings and woodcuts. If your kids have tried working with wood, you might want to check out my video on prayer nuts.
