In this video I completely nerd out over how freaking amazing this collection is. 10 out of 10 all day! I can't even think of something witty to write here, I just love this CD so much!

There’s lots of food and drink in this collection. I’ve recently bought up almost every Beach Boys album and the post Pet Sounds stuff is awesome to the early 70s. I have the 2004 version of Smile by Brian Wilson and have loved that since it came out. The Beach Boys may not be America’s favourite band but they’re definitely America’s most fascinating. Brian Wilson is an amazing and incredible artist. God Only Knows by David Leaf is essential reading if you want to know it all. Feel Flows and Sail On Sailor 1972 are essential too! The original Wild Honey is an incredibly short album! Must be 12 mins aside on vinyl!!

Hey Giggens, Great Video. Long? Yes! Worth every second of it? A Resounding, Absolutely! I've watched so many of your Beach Boys review vids but this was one which had escaped me. Two aspects of your reviews that I Love so much are 1. The depth of knowledge which you give each and every track. Whether it be how the music was arranged or the instrumentation or (what I find the most valuable and interesting) 2. The background of what the band was going through at that particular time, both individually and as a collective group. You are able to shed so much light upon the real life circumstances taking place in their long and storied career. Their "Long Promised Road" as it were. (Sorry man. I just couldn't pass up the clear opportunity.) The beautiful part of Giggens on KZbin is the honest joy you bring to their best work and you avoid the mistake of being the "Homer" by the fact that on the (very rare) occasion that they, as a group or individually, release a 'dud' you call that out as well. Calling the balls and strikes, which as a reviewer is a necessity. As I've expressed before "The Beach Boys" have been my favorite band for a lifetime and you, as always, lend so much more color to their story that it fills the holes in their history for me, making the "Whole Complete." Not tryin, to be a 'kiss up', just bein' an honest fan! BTW, Greetings from the future (5 years later.) LOL.

I bought this cd based on your review and I was not disappointed 😃😎👍. It’s a great cd. My only question is other than the live stuff does Dennis Wilson do anything? Dennis was such an amazing talent, but he appears to be forgotten on this particular cd. Anyway I enjoy all your reviews. Keep doing what you are doing.😎😎👍

Thanks Raymond! Yeah, Dennis was always around for some percussion and background vocals!

Well, I missed this the first time around and now that I am going crazy over the Feel Flows box..... I want to go back and discover that reissue of the Wild Honey. Cannot wait to explore this one as well. Such a massive fan of this beautiful group. Sorry for my late arrival to this video and this great item. God bless and keep well, Tino

We need a Holland set. I love that album and it deserves a box set if they have extras in the vault

I bought a few days ago the SAIL ON SAILOR 6cdBox, wonderful. I have the Feel Flows and Sunshine Tomorrow too...and ST is maybe a "minor" project but is the one where the work on the songs is worthful of great attention. WILD HONEY sounds absolutely better here. A sound stronger and clearer at the same time! Here Comes The Nights chorus is empowered! in these years of big boxes it's a shame the 1968 Friends/ 1969 20.20 "box" is out only on line without physical release....I don't need to tell you why!! I also picked the double CD up the Friday it was issued and it blew me away! I've always loved the Wild Honey lp and it's so nice to hear the improved sound! Although I love most of the Beach Boys periods my favourite period runs from Pet Sounds thru Holland, with heavy emphasis Smile to 20 20. Anyroad I enjoy your reviews so keep em coming. Newman

For me, there were two things wrong with Wild Honey. It was in mono and it was too short. But now, after a LONG time, both of those problems are rectified. Loads of great details emerging from the previous monaural sludge, and I can now immerse myself in a longer Wild Honey experience. V. good! Also, is it controversial to say "hurrah for the CD format"?

Was a great set and was disappointing they didn't do the Friends/20-20 era on CD as well- only digitally! My only disappointment with this set was they messed up the stereo for the song Wild Honey. As soon as it started I was like "hey, that doesn't sound right?" Then I read accounts online where they mentioned that the compilers made a mistake with the mastering of this track. The only negative of this set though! I saw someone on KZbin has fixed the track but wish we had it on the CD

There are photos in the CD booklet that show them wearing the famous striped shirts. When were the first and last times that they wore them in concert?
@Giggens4 жыл бұрын
They stopped wearing them live in 1967, and by 1968 were wearing suits on stage. As far as I know!
@orbyfan4 жыл бұрын
@@Giggens The striped shirts shown in those photos from 1967 have long sleeves, which wasn't the case in earlier years.

Giggens, I just today discovered your channel while surfing youtube land and you definitely have some great taste in classic rock music and a knack for breaking down what makes a great album. My question for you is I noticed your views on some of your reviews are extremely high like 2.7K and 1.5K and some are at very low views like low hundreds or less and they were published at relatively the same time and with similar subject matter. Why do you think there are such big differences in views.....is it the actual subject matter or the way the video was titled or something else?? I'm just curious because I was thinking of launching my own channel of album reviews but didn't know whether I should stick with one band like Kiss for instance (my favorite 70's rock band) or should I do reviews like you have on several different bands which seems like the better way to go if you wanted a larger more diverse audience. Thanks in advance for any help with my queries!!
@Giggens5 жыл бұрын
Hey John! No idea why my views are up and down haha, still trying to figure that out myself! I know most people come here for Beach Boys, Beatles, Stones, the big ones. The trick to doing a channel is doing something no one else is doing, or finding your own unique angle. A KISS channel would be pretty cool!

Still catching up on all these reviews! Some remarkable revelations on this long overdue package. Just curious why they aren't releasing this on lp....along with the Pet Sounds Sessions and Made in California. Hopefully one day.
