Thanks for your excellent review. I came to Starflyer quite by chance. As a 71 yr. old guitarist, I'm always on the lookout for an ecology of relation. These gorgeous guitar centric lines and vocals were a nice surprise.

"Still going strong" is right. My vinyl hasn't arrived yet, but I have been streaming it (couldn't resist). Thanks for the kind mention fellow vinyl brother - wasn't expecting that. So much nostalgia and melancholy in the lyrics. Growing up with them, I feel I can relate to a lot of those sentiments. Great to be able to share the enjoyment with you - I had hoped you'd review this album, and great to hear your thoughts. "Underappreciated, but not on my watch". Well said!

Starflyer 59's very BEST album! I love how it simultaneously grows OUT OF the Gold-vibe, while showing a depth of growth as a writer & arranger. This is probably my favorite album from '24!

I discover this band by a algorithm suggestion in youtube by the time of My Island back in 2008, the first video i clicked was I Win, it was hipnotic for me then i started to dig a lot more into their vast discography every album was a different universe by it self now every time i listen something new from Mr Martin it make me enjoy music again. This album means literally Lust for gold for the Starflyer 59 sound

Believe it or not, “I Win” was the song that got me into Starflyer as well. It was a free download on a site called Purevolume, way back in ‘06 or ‘07. Jason Martin’s love for music can be heard in everything he puts his name to. Thanks for watching!

During the '90s(and honestly during the late 80s as well) I was avidly immersed in the Christian Alt Rock scene. A couple of my personal favorites were The Choir, and Poor Old Lu. Starflyer was also one of the many bands I saw live and a couple of their releases made it into my collection. It's nothing short of amazing that they are still creating great art all these years later... and that they apparently never stopped? How many bands from that scene can say that? It's a testament to their mental fortitude as well as their skills.

Great review! I’ve been a fan since 2003’s Old LP. This 62 yr old can get enough of the blistering guitars on My Lungs!
