Dunno what the actual story is behind the colab is but if I had to guess it'd be that Fantato was offended by how criminally small this channel is. Fucking absolute 10/10 finds and reviews

Great review! but why didnt you mention ecailles de lune, their best album. (kodama is pretty good i like it a lot but ecailles de lune is just better)

Thank you for this brilliant analysis ! You mentioned the lyrics of the last track : L'adieu (The farewell ), It is actually a famous poem from Guillaume Appolinaire. It is in homage to a poem by Victor Hugo; "demain dès l'aube" (tomorrow at dawn) which was written in memory of his daughter Léopoldine Hugo, who had accidentally drowned in the Seine four years earlier. your french pronunciation is good by the way.

This one took a minute for me to get into. Now I'm loving it, though. Alcest is my favorite band. No one creates an atmosphere like they do. I'm even trying to learn French so i dont butcher their song names either and maybe can even sing along one day.

I picked up some headphones that you can listen to underwater, which has made my swimming workout much better. But nothing has hit quite like this album since I started using them a few months ago. The crescendo in Amethyst hits perfectly every time, and I thinks best illustrates Alcest style that I've loved for a damn near 15 years. Great review! What album next? The new 200 Stab Wounds.

Excellent review! I've been spinning this one since it came out and mostly agree with your assessment. My favorite track is hands down Amethyste, probably because it reminds me a lot of Kodama which I also loved. Would love to hear your opinion on the new Hunstmen album, it's my aoty so far. They play a unique blend of progressive sludge and Americana.

don't wanna be a nerd but alcest did not start off as a solo project, there were 2 other members in the beginning, on their first demo

youre only half-correct, neige did create it as a solo project, shortly after two othrs joined (forgot their names) but, as you said, left after the first demo. the drummer winterhalter joined after souvenirs dun autre monde.
