I don't usually watch a whole lot of PvP for this game, but I came across your lightning build invasion recently and I immediately like your style.

So I might’ve messed up with this one. Recently I’ve been playing at 200 so I decided to bring this build up there too but it might’ve been a mistake lol. I love this build, it’s my favorite thematic character I’ve made, but that doesn’t mean it’s a good invasion build. It isn’t very strong, not that that has ever been a problem for me but I wanted to let you all know. it’s fun but kinda hard to win with.

As someone who made something very similar, yet different in minor ways, I understand. FROM despises status builds. The amount of setup and preparation you need (as well as other sources of items for additional effects and the grinding needed for those) compared to a STR user pushing L2 is a plateau that not many can climb.

@@VultureXV I feel like saying From hates status builds might be a bit of a stretch considering how much better basically every status effect is in Elden Ring. Sleep, bleed, frost, madness, and rot are all very strong albeit with limited "good" ways to apply them. Sleep for example has very few options, but Ripple Halberds with sleep grease were a flavor of the week cheese build for a reason. Super strong status, but lacking toolbox. Poison and deathblight are really the only status effect that's weak in my opinion, and that's largely because poison is the same as rot but does like 1/100th as much damage and deathblight has barely any ways to apply it in addition to buildup usually being pretty slow. Then again, deathblight is just a terribly designed status and literally nobody would be happy if it were good. This build just happens to use weaker tools to apply statuses, which it definitely does suck that options are limited and it would be cool if that were amended in some way, but if you powerstance Vyke's Spears, frost katanas, or poison Antspur Rapiers, the results are nauseating. I feel like the main problem isn't that status builds are bad, just that they require metamancing to work well, at which point they work really well. If this were Dark Souls 1 or 3, I'd definitely agree that status builds are kind of bad all around though. (bleed is okay I guess)

Actually there's the Gravebird's mask which resembles the plague doctor's mask Edit: or you just can make your character's nose really big and it will look like the mask xD (just tested it)

So how are you enjoying RL200 pvp? For my second character I made for the DLC I've been staying at 139 (even though I don't do pvp because I suck) I imagine it's very very different to your usual 90 stuff. How does it affect things?

@@Scott.E.H I’m liking it, idk if I like it more than 90, I’d have to get a 90 character through the dlc before I could say. It’s a lot easier to make more thematic characters and overleveled phantoms aren’t really a thing with how strong you can be. I like it more in the sense that hosts will have over 1400+ hp (well, most of the time). Hey I used to be that way too, I still don’t think I’m that great but I can hold my own. Elden Ring is weird, it’s way easier to get into the PvP compared to past titles, but there are times when it’s difficult to win because of said accessibility.

Between 139 and 200 what do you think would be best for someone just trying pvp? Theoretically with stealth invasions though I'm not sure I'd be much good.

@@Scott.E.H the levels definitely help. And since you aren’t sitting so close to meta lvl you’ll be getting more ppl playing through rather than getting a lot of grace gankers.

It was originally a lvl 90 build before the dlc. So depending on how many weapons you want to use it could probably sit nice at 60. I wouldn’t go any lower but that’s just preference.

It’s all at the end screen but I can give a quick rundown. AoWs were: poison blooms twice on the Antspur, and I prefer swords dance over blind spot on the cirque but idk which is better. I only added two new spells to the build and Ansbach’s spell is currently bugged. But the other is night maidens mist. And talismans are concealing veil, trick mirror, perfume tali, and dagger, tali
