This reminds me of an old story of mine. About 15 years ago I managed to wear out the enter key on my Thinkpad to the point of destroying the rubber dome. I was in university at the time and low on money, so I had to live with it and figure out a solution. I learnt odd facts, like the fact that you could use ctrl-M instead of enter in the Windows XP login prompt. (This generates a carriage return, 0x0d much like the maybe more famous ctrl-J that generates a newline character, 0x0a.) But my solution ended up being the "enter box" built from stuff in the university student electronics workshop. A project box containing the controller from a USB keyboard, and a switch shorting out the point for enter in the keyboard matrix. I would put this to the right of the laptop for when I needed to press enter. The student workshop also had another part, a multi pole momentary switch, which gave me the idea to add a secondary function to the enter box: a switch that simultaneously pressed ctrl, alt and delete. Good times.

Is "ZealPC Clickie" an official singular for Clickiez?
@Chyrosran22Ай бұрын
I think it might be?
@thethriftyfawnАй бұрын
Cliquie is the designer version 😆
@jammies701Ай бұрын
The singular and plural are both Clickiez based on the naming scheme on Zeal's website. Every switch is listed in the singular, e.g., "Tealio switches," "Pearlio switches", "Clickiez switches", etc. Unless they don't follow their scheme with this one switch for some reason, or they've released an official pronunciation, I think it's safe to assume the singular is Clickiez

I find that blue and lilac go very well together, especially with the neutral shiny metal inner bezel. I like the little tray for a half golf pencil, that one has maybe sharpened enough times to be so short. Being American, I have not a single ISO enter key though. It should of course be an "ANY" key, though I dunno what an appropriate "no operation" scan code would be for this purpose which would do nothing but emit an event. Maybe if there's a dedicated "wake" key, which should in theory do nothing in any application (though it may not even generate a key event either).
@voodooliliumАй бұрын
you missed a great opportunity to do a typing test using Morse code! edit: now I'm wondering if you could program it in qmk/via/vial to actually type using Morse code.

Some years ago there was a defence minister, who was forced to quit, when it turned out, that he had copied large parts of his doctor thesis without marking these parts as citations. Soon. some clever people designed a keyboard for him that only hold three keys: Ctrl and C and V.

Yeah. 1, It's very describing that 99% of the mech keebs are ANSI, but when they do a one key enter, that will be ISO. 2, Absolutely worthless gimmicky nothing, not even a joke 'cause it's expensive. And the good jokes are cheap. 3, The best keyboard for managers. Everything is done and put together, they just go on the stage and push the enter. (No boring hassle with the unnecessary complexities.)
