I'm on 10mg of lexapro and I drink beer pretty regularly. I have definitely noticed that it has lowered my tolerance. For anyone that's wandering I still party on lexapro. Lol. When I drink I go hard. Probably not the right thing to do but it happens. Also if anyone is watching this video worried about the side effects of lexapro I stared at my bottle of pills for 2 months scared to death to take them. The only side effects I've had is diarrhea. Nothing else and my panic/anxiety attacks are GONE !!! I'm so damn glad I started it. Do yourself a favor and START YOUR MEDS !!!

It deffo helps anxiety but just be very careful coming of the meds google ssri withdrawals before coming of . Your body and brain becomes hooked on the ssri and ur brain rewrires to the drug . Also withdrawals don’t often start until a few months after stopping x

when you drank alcohol the first few weeks of being on lexapro did it affect you differently? because I also drinka and party all the time and the first day i took lexapro while drinking i got horrible anxiety. u think i just have to get used to the pill before drinking while on it?

@@danielledenning3656 not really. Alchohol by itself would get rid of my anxiety. Even before starting the lexapro. But the next day my anxiety was through the roof. My doctor and everyone else told me that my anxiety would get worse before it got better while taking lexapro. I was fortunate enough that the meds started working almost instantly for me. VERY few side effects.

Im on 10mg Lexapro, and if even have 1 beer or some wine, it puts me in a really negative depressed mood...it takes at least 3 days to feel better. I'll never drink again while taking this med.

I'm still trying to find the right daily medicine to help me but I do want to say I'm glad you tackled the subject of alcohol and taking medicine. Ive been taking Lexapro for about two amd a half months. Im on 10mg. I drank regularly a few times a week for 15 years. My first week on Lexapro i cut back on the alcohol for a week and a half, but after that week i started drinking more than ever and this week i got ahold of my intake. I am an alcoholic and have been for 21 years. The Lexapro made my anxiety and intense anger go away which is great. I no longer dislike being around people all the time.

@vexiaah I rarely drink now. The generic Lexapro takes the edge off enough to where i don't have the urge to drink. This medication truly works. Only bad side effect i have had is trouble sleeping, but that is rare.

The only thing I've noticed that is different for me is the next day I am VERY tired. Like I can take a nap or two, which I never did before. (10mg, in the evening). Tolerance def went down though for sure.

I don’t find my tolerance has gone down but if I drink it feels like it’s cancelling out the medication and some anxiety/depression symptoms come back the next day. 50mg of Zoloft but I still have a couple of beers once or twice a week.

Ever since I started taking Paxil, my alcohol cravings, and intake increased dramatically. This went on for 2 years before i realized that the meds were making me binge drink. Ever since I quit SSRI, my alcohol cravings and intake decreased and now I drink rarely. I was diagnosed with OCD and Depression, but taking SSRI was like a double edged seord; either I take the meds and keep OCD under control whilst heavily drinking, or I don’t drink and live with bad OCD.

It takes 30 minutes after you finish your last drink to feel the full effects of the alcohol you consumed.

I drunk a whole bottle of vodka on 5mg lexapro .. yeah I wouldn’t recommend drinking that much BUT maybe a few drinks is fine 😂👍

In my experience, taking alcohol with Lexapro would make me feel drowsy and a bit emotionally attached like a zombie. I would definitely only drink sparingly. A couple of drinks here or there isn't going to kill you but it isn't pleasant either.

My doctor told me I can't drink on lexapro I used to party a lot before. Is almost 1 year I havent drink alcohol and I feel good but sometome I crave some beers when I'm with my friends

I am on 10mg of lexapro and started the medicine 5 weeks ago. Last friday i tried drinking alcohol on the medicine for the first time and it went well. I drank approx. 5 beers (maybe 6) - though over many hours, but felt no discomfort from it (maybe I felt a LITTLE bit more drunk than what i normally Will do). I think there is a difference from person to person and that it is important to be careful around alcohol to begin with

I used be on 10 mg on citalopram and used drink 6 cans beer 🍺 I was ok no issues ,but now I’ve switch to 5 mg escitalopram so when have couple beers now see how I go hopefully be fine great video by way take care 🇬🇧

I've been on 20mg of lexapro for 8 years and have been a functional alcoholic for 7 years. On a typical day I drink about 16-18 beers(and that's a light day). Lexapro changed my life for the better. But with that I eventually fell into becoming addicted to alcohol as a result of going out more and partying. My doctors consider me a pretty unusual case, but take my advice and try not to get to where I'm at. Btw you look like a combination of conan o'Brien and tom green ha love it bro, good vid.

Bro I’ve been a functional alcoholic since I was like 23-30 and it became daily for me. One beer and a half to a pint a day.. mainly bc of anxiety.. but they I loved it but my friend sis in law just died at 33 from bad liver .. I just did blood work like last week and doctor mentioned my liver levels was a lil high .. nothing crazy but above where it should be. All I know it scared the hell of me.. been on water for a week straight and I’m leaving that shit alone. Cut back bro that’s too much. Writing this bc I care for you and don’t even know you.

I have taken cipralex for 7 years there is only one side effect with mixing it with alcohol for me. I get drunk very fast. I really feel the effects of alcohol after one beer.

I think everyone is nervous. Doctor Google was my worst enemy. I looked at my pills for 2 months scared to start the. And suffering the entire time. I started with half of what he prescribed for a week. Then went to the full dose. I never had any crazy side effects at all. I am so glad I started them. I had myself convinced that i was having heart trouble and was going to die soon. ...it was a VERY miserable thing to be going through. Lexapro fixed me right up lol...START YOUR MEDS.

My wife is on 20mg a day and gets incredibly wasted after 6 beers. As the night goes on things she says comes out about us that she would never say sober. I mean like divorce type of conversations. Same deal here. When my partner drinks of this stuff, she becomes verbally abusive, extremely angry, and says a lot of really, really mean, and irrational things, even when the kids are present. It's scary to see. I keep telling myself to stick with it. I hate seeing our kids go through it so much. I don't know her anymore since her habits have gotten a hold of her on this stuff.

Ive been on it for 3 weeks 10mg. Only side effects r very bad libido decrease/not achieving orgasm and scary ass dreams. Only thing i dont like about it rn it drinking. Personally it increased my tolerance and i was already at a very high tolerance before (naturally) also, when u r buzzed and u get that euphoric feeling and happyness, the lexapro blacks that which sucks cuz thats the fun part right before u actually get drunk. I now only get a body numbness the more i drink. I dont get dizzy, slur my words or anything, my body just keeps getting numb. Hopefully it goes away though

My tolerance has gone down so much. I can only drink half a beverage before I'm drunk. On top of that, if I drink too much (for my new tolerance) in a night, I'll have extreme anxiety and panic attacks the next day. I'll wake up after sleeping maybe... 3-4 hours, and it's all down hill from there. Anytime after that my eyes start to finally drift closed, that anxiety spikes and wakes me right back up. It's not fair 🥲
