do any minor products occur without the 1,2-shift? or is that move so stabilizing that there virtually is none (but even miniscule?)
@UsherCoolboySWFilms Жыл бұрын
At the start of the video, you said the reaction would go through E1, but you didn't explain why :(. Why is it E1 and not E2?
@jaytan26493 жыл бұрын
May I ask if the reagents and conditions used are listed in this following order: " H2O, H2SO4, 100 degrees, 3h" Will elimination of alcohol occur to give a major product for a compound, or elimination of alcohol does not occur since H2O is in excess? Thank you.

Sir please Answer me the following two questions. 1. Although Nitrogen is more electronegative than carbon ,the direction of the dipole moment is towards the ring? 2. what happens when methylcyclopropene is heated with HBr?

Hi! I have a question at 11:04, can the ring open with carbon 2? or is there a reason for the carbon 6 to open the ring?

Hi, I have a quick question. In the last reaction you went over (ether formation), how do you control which alcohol is protonated? When introduced to sulfuric acid, can't both the alcohols get protonated at once?
@edgedoff26233 жыл бұрын
Doesn't Matter bcoz we get the same product
@phymath80382 жыл бұрын
@@edgedoff2623 but it doesn't matter because the product is symmetrical. what if the chain has anything attached to it on 3,4,5 positions

Can we use setzeff rule to determine stability
@shobanajohn97432 жыл бұрын
Yep but it helps only in case of 2⁰ and 3⁰ alcohols as they follow E¹ path but be careful when it comes to 1⁰ Alcohols which follows E² mechanism!

a major product is just the product that is most abundant, usually the most substituted double bond in these reactions

You can also compare On the basis of which product have more alpha -H. The compound which have more alpha - H (should see the hydrogens of the carbon next to the doubly bonded carbon) would be the major product
