i do a similar process at home but... I soak dry frozen material in cold iso 99% for 20mins then use a temperature controlled distiller to reduce the tincture at 79C until its down to around 100ml, then put it into a vacuum chamber to cold purge the rest of the iso out. the entire process takes around 8hrs. I end up with a thick taffy that is golden honey clear or with a reddish tint depending on the strain. very close to bho butter but much more yield at lower cost and i recover 70% of the alcohol.

How much green and iso do u use
@walley2637 Жыл бұрын
@@sugardaddygaming4633 typically I am growing indoors in a grow tent so my plants are what i would call medium-size. I trim it down and keep the biggest buds separate (usually around 2oz) then i take the rest and screen it to get some kief to make some hash (around 20grams). the rest goes into the freezer to extract. so i would say usually around 4oz of trim and buds. with that i add around 2.5liters of iso. (it is usually broken down to almost power so it only takes up about 2liters of volume by that time) I then take it out of the distiller when it is down to about 100-200ml. by the time it is done, I am left with around 20grams. If I skip the dry-sifting step i may get up to 40grams of extract.

Absolutely 🔥. Except do it with frozen Plant Material and "Frozen" ethanol limits the chlorophylls, also you can shake you flowers with dry ice to break off all the tricombs and just use the powder and smoke the flower aswell.

What are the recommended alcohols and % to use? If an alcohol is 99% alcohol, can't the remaining 1% be considered a toxic residue? In this case, would it be more recommended to use grain alcohol? as grain alcohol is recommended for use in the food industry.

do MCT oil tincture instead in the case of cannabis, the MCT oil is triglyceride which means there is more thc can be bound with. It's slower... way slower process to make it, but worth it. Google what "slow maceration" is and do just that.

Question when you distill the ethanol can you reuse the ethanol that is extracted or is their to many impurities that go along with it. It seems like you could but might sacrifice flavor more possibly.

@DeBaccoUniversity2 жыл бұрын
It can be used, but it would not be recommended due to the inclusion of other solvents that are added. Denatured ethanol can be used in extraction processes and is often utilized by any extractors looking to avoid the higher costs associated with using pure ethanol." ecolink.com/info/denatured-ethanol-for-extraction/

Everyone who enjoys smoking oxidized chlorophyll stand up and wave. (sits down, hands in lap...) A combination of activated charcoal and celite filtration can work miracles but proper distillation of the full spectrum extract works best to remove chlorophyll IME. Properly purged BHO is a much better "homeowner" extraction method for a lot of reasons.
