Such beautifull butterflies.I once made a card with alcohol ink on vellum, also with butterfly dies.i was very happy with the results My children are adults and live on their own.Last year I divorced. It was a difficult time to be alone and single again.I always enjoyed taking care of my children.I AM happy they are good responsable independent persons now.But IT took me some time to adjust to my new living situation.I adopted a sweet cat from a animal shelter. He is my best friend now, enjoying each others company.

These cards are gorgeous! I must admit I never saw anyone use this technique before. I appreciate your honest opinion of the difficulties. But it is pretty apparent that the results are worth it!

Stunning. I have a tip for you. I use the canned air that you use to clean your keyboard with, to move the ink around. It gives me a great splatter look. Also the heat embossable acetate can get expensive so run an empty laminator pouch through and then you can laminate on top of it with no problem. It ends up running you like .15 per sheet. I totally feel you on that not knowing what to do with yourself after raising kids. My four are grown and married with kids of their own now. When my baby left, I truly didn't know what to do with myself. What to cook, what to watch on tv. I struggled for a purpose. Then I started making cards for cancer patients. I am disabled and bed bound, so my choices were limited. However I absolutely have a purpose again, and I make cards every day. About 5k a year.

@@ruthportway5198 Thanks Ruth, this is the 6th yr. I have something to do every day and I love it. I have always sponsored it all on my own, but this year I am trying to find sponsors to help cover cost. Envelopes alone are over 600$ now. I need to be on some design teams lol

I am also an empty nester after having 4 kiddos. I am disabled as well and almost bed bound because of spinal issues. I make cards for our active duty military to send home to loved ones for birthdays, holidays and thinking of you cards. It has definitely become more expensive since the pandemic. Luckily I have tons of unused cardstock laying around, envelopes are my biggest expense als. I order in bulk and that helps with cost. Try talking to cancer organizations and ask if they can supply the envelopes if you donate the cards.

Really beautiful cards. I’ve never used alcohol ink on acetate. I love the results. Definitely will be trying this. I’ve been wanting to get out my alcohol inks again, now I know what to do with them when I do get them out. I know how you feel about the kids being gone. It’s so weird when my family is away & I’m alone. Sometimes I really want that alone time, but as soon as they’re out the door I don’t know what to do! But I hope he has a good time with his dad. And I hope you enjoy your alone time with your little girl.

Beautiful butterflies 🦋 I believe that in one of Tim’s videos, he said that you gave to use blending solution with the alcohol pearls, specifically. Because the pearl will flake off if you don’t. It has some kind of fixative in it.

Gorgeous butterflies! Ironically you were out of hospital when I went in, but today I came home. On Sunday I went in to Emergency and, as you do, I stayed for 3 days. They don’t know why and are planning loads of tests to rule out cancer and other nasties. And, after IV antibiotics for days, I’m feeling better than I was. Life, hey? I have found there are several thickness of the yupo pages. I found some was transparent while some had some kind of shimmer or glitter in the pages. I want to try heat embossing with the acitate and the yupo pages. What I have done was to use the April big die cut 2021 on the yupo for a birthday card for my mother. The first time around it turned out fantastic the 2nd time it turned out like your first attempt with your butterfly. Then I got some thin yupo pages. Sofar I haven't had the time to go back n try it again. But I do truly enjoy mr alcohol art work using the small air compressor. You should try it one day. Also get some of the gum they use when ever the Gardners trim back a tree. They put some kind of gum on the cut parts to prevent the tree from loosing all of its sap. Do your alcohol designe then after your art is dry fir a few days then do another designe on top where you use a paint brush and this tree gum and paint on another designe Overton of your alcohol ink. LIVE IT TO DRY FOR A FEW DAYS. Then use some alcohol over top of the hole page. Then let the page set again for a few hours before you lightly use your thumb to just rub off the gum that you painted on. Play around with that for a few times . Or another one. Just try it on another alcohol ink art designe you've done along with your stamperatice . Place your alcohol art work in your stamperatice along with a flower cling stamp that you really like and instead of using just any ink try the alcohol lift ink. I did see some one else try it . Maybe jennifer mcguire. On the demo it turned out so fantastic. When I tried it both with the tree gum and with the lifting solution it didn't work out so good for me. So I will need to try it again on both styles

Once again, you nailed it. Pretty cards. I purchased that blower thing so I didn't have to use a straw. I'm going to have to come up with a strategy for using it as I delve into alcohol inks one in awhile. My hand and wrist don't your up well. Question: on the second technique, if you put the ink on the back side, would that alleviate the peeling? I can see where it probably wouldn't be as vibrant. Ohhhhhhh and your nails look great. Also, I wrote and asked that question before I finished the video. 😉
