Tun? I thought it was American. But yeah the price of beer is getting to be a bit much. Gone are the days of 15 beer nights at the Pub. Now its 15 beers a week at home. Should learn to brew my own. I got a few silos here full of barley and wheat.

Back in the day tax was on the alcohol content per volume so we started to drink low alcohol beer to keep the price down but the crafty buggers worked that out so the new tax was on per litre volume not the alcohol. Yep even if you buy a carton of water in a beer can you will pay the tax. So now we drink low alcohol beer and drink more of it to get the happy days feeling you are paying full strength alcohol tax on it so fucket just go back to full strength beers happy days.

Interesting. In 2005 onwards, I brewed for 5.5-6.5% strength at 56c a longneck. Batched out one at 10.2% - blew mountains away and his three sisters. Gave three bottles to my supervisor, he came in red faced, looked at me, shook his head and retired to the workshop back corner office to hide.

All it takes is a quick google search to find a few resources that prove that the government's reasoning for higher taxes on cigarettes and related tobacco products is completely bullshit. They make more in revenue from cigarettes and tobacco than they claim they spend on the healthcare system. Australia has the highest prices for cigarettes, etc, in the world. It's all about making more money to line their back pockets at the end of the day. Besides, the average politician makes $211,250 a year (updated in 2019, apparently). The average wage in Australia is $68,900 a year, and the minimum wage is $45,902 per year (if you work 38 hours a week). So, the average politician's wage is 4.6 times the minimum wage ( in Australia). How's that for fucked?

not a bad thing.. i smoked for 20 years (started at 15)..the thing is.i very rarely see kids smoking these days..its fantastic. In all fairness, if they were serious we would be looking at a retroactive smoking ban..if engineered stone was serious enough then this should be too.
