Jokic proved them wrong by winning the NBA Finals and winning finals MVP. While the so called 2023 MVP choked the lead in Semi Finals with a MVP caliber also in his team. What a joke.

Nah he got a point regardless of his outrageous takes fans and the media aren’t keeping the same energy with jokic and Luka that they keep with other black players when it comes to criticism. They don’t call out Luka for crying about fouls and throwing tantrums but if Westbrook even does a celebration they all over him. They call out Westbrook for statpadding but will support the coach keeping jokic in the game where his team is winning to get a triple double. They call out players for never winning a Championship but never say anything about jokic or Luka failing in the playoffs every year instead they say they need more help. And this mvp race proves it no way a team like the nuggets should have 2 MVPs let alone 3 when they been atleast a top 3 seed and they do got the talent to make it to the finals. If jokic wins mvp again with a great team it will make me question why hasn’t Lebron won the mvp trophy many times. Why didn’t Westbrook get it again after he averaged another triple double the following year just like jokic.

What facts? lol. Loved JJ opinion on the sport. He definitely brings some fresh prospective especially coming from a formal player. I think Kendrick statements were based in facts as well. The NBA MVP voting is not objective. Like Kendrick said, at times it feels like it lacks consistency year-to-year. One year it's the best player from the team with the best records in the NBA, other times it's from the best player on a really bad team that made the playoff, or it could go to the overall best player in the league that year. Recently advance analytic seems to be the main factor. The second time Russel Westbrook average a tripled double NO BODY CARE. He was not in the MVP conversation. Every year there are few players that fits one of those narratives. Kendrick is saying if a white player is among those few players that could deserve the MVP that year. The NBA MVP voters (who are overwhelming white) tends to go with the narrative that fits that white player. Example Kobe deserved the MVP in 06 cause he took a really bad lakers team to the playoff (just like nikola jokic did the first year he won it), but the voters decided to go with the Steve Nash MVP narrative that year. Kobe played way better basketball that year. Not everything is based on race, but this is AMERICA PEOPLE. LETS NOT ACT LIKE WE DON'T HAVE A HISTORY OF RACISM THAT IS PRESENT IN SOCIETY. Obviously the voters are not going to give a decent white player the NBA MVP when they don't meet/fit any of those MVP narrative. Like they are not going to vote Kevin Huerter for MVP cause that will be to obvious. It evidence of racism in today America is mostly present when there are a barely qualify evidence to based it on.

The sad part of all this is that Perkins is sadly nothing more than a reflection of many other black people who hold racist attitudes themselves while complaining about racism. As someone who’s black and often get to hear black opinions when “others” aren’t around, I’ve noticed some black people simply can’t stand to see a white person, especially in sports, get praised, awarded or honored. The call for “overrated” often rings out. It was true with Larry Bird as Dennis Rodman showed with his ridiculous swipe back in the day at Larry’s popularity.

Let’s be real. Everybody and they mama thought Kobe should’ve won the MVP in 2006! All the other ones I really don’t know about. But I do know about that second MVP Nash got. That was Kobe’s year! And the year he finally won could be argued that he didn’t deserve that one. Duncan was great that year also. I just think the way MVP is voted on should be revised!

I hate it because as a Celtics fan I always loved Perk... he came into the league out of high school with a level of maturity and coachability that was admirable. He improved year on year as he carved out a niche in the NBA. He was one of Tommy Heinsohn's favorite players because of the effort he put out there on the floor, especially on defense. To see him sink to this level of pettiness really hurts, I never thought of him as a hater. He's definitely less humble than he used to be. I still love ya Perk but you gotta come correct on this... you were wrong. Give Joker his due and keep race out of it PLEASE !!!🙏

Going by what you just said, which is correct, I'm still trying to figure why they got rid of Jalen. And why someone like Malika is still around. I hope JJ is there for years to come. He's damn good and fair. He pointed out the silliness of the league going after Ja over nothing. I won't forget that

This has been a problem for a long time but when I was coming up being able to enjoy both black, white and others together whether in life events, sports, work or whatever I always appreciated the viewpoints of each group but love when it's well done in teamwork. I believe some have overcome that blatant outward ignorance but we still have much more work to do, don't we friends?
