Thank you for speaking up. My son has FAS and I was always judged for telling him since I got him at almost 2 years, that he has FAS because people thought that I was labelling him. But I always said that he doesnt see it that way and it was so reasuring that you felt a weight lifting off your shoulders. My son just entered first grade and I hope that he will grow up happy.

A wise young man, spread the word folks, no drinking during pregnancy, never! Give our nations a chance to flourish, we have it in us, and we can make our children healthy and strong - he does my heart good, think of what he could have been without the damage even as terrific as he is now - it's 100% preventable, spread the word and help young mothers say NO to alcohol and give their child a full chance at life, independence and grace. You go Morgan with powerful prayers!

Amazing, what an awesome young man you are! Too many youngsters live blind lives, frustrated with difficulties, shunned because they don't fit smoothly into society. They don't know why and call themselves stupid. Many have never been informed by their mothers which is unforgivable. Change is in the air.

Morgan, I applaud your ability to speak so well for people that struggle with FASD. You help parents realize the importance of getting a diagnoses. You re-assure parents that by providing their children a diagnosis it can relieve them of the weight of believing they are NOT dumb. Diagnosis provides parents or care givers and children the tools to an understanding of the challenges they encounter in daily tasks and learning. As an educator I will carry the information you shared with me. Thanks!

I think that because most members of my tribe (Eastern Cherokee) are Baptists who don't drink, we don't really have this issue on our rez. The Qualla Boundary is dry as well, due to the majority religion and the fact we have the lectures from Yonaguska on how alcohol is devastating--he struggled with alcohol abuse. A lot of Natives like to make fun of Cherokee people, but we're doing something right here.

They must know, how difficult it is for him, to act, what most other People can act very easy. Mothers must be cleared up. Parents must be cleared up. The complete society must be cleared up. -

Even if their learning ability and memory sucks ... at least they are able to feel and express themselves, which many 'normal' people can't! ... Therefor i think they're very underestimated. Yet, all moms expecting should think very clearly ... and if you're a alcoholic or don't mind drinking alcohol during pregnancy, please, just don't get pregnant. This counts for all addictions

There are 11 year old chess champions and concert pianists. They still have challenges in life. Morgan has trained himself to speak publicly about his own condition, but having spontaneous interactions with others is very difficult. I have seen him give a lecture on a reservation in California. He had a personal assistant bring him there because he could not do it on his own. Amazing how he accepts what happened to him, and is committed to showing others to avoid doing it, and how he copes with it.
