While I feel for common Russian people, I blame them as well. They took the stance of "it doesn't affect me so I'll turn a blind eye instead of confronting my government" attitude. The people of Karelia are mostly ethnic Finns who were forced to live in the USSR and today in Russia. The USSR invaded Finland 1939. In 1944 there was a peace treaty, in which the Finns had to cede parts of Finnish territory and in 1947 the USSR took another piece of Finland through blackmail. I see clear parallels in the USSR invasion of Finland and the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The peace treaty was also blackmail because Stalin threatened to completely flatten Finland once Germany is defeated.

The inhabitants of Karelia, lost by Finland in 1944, moved to Finland, and nowadays the inhabitants of this Karelia are mainly Russian. There are some Finnish-related peoples living in the area, but they are a very small minority. All those Finns who were in Karelia who wanted to move to Finland also moved. In the 1990s, the then president of Finland gave Inker's Finns permission to return to Finland. The Inger Finns are ethnic Finns who moved from Savo and the Karelia isthmus to the vicinity of present-day St. Petersburg to Inkerinmaa in the 17th century. I don't know about the Russian blackmail that happened in 1947, because the lost land areas were defined in the peace treaty in 1944. After that, Russia handed over to Finland e.g. Porkkala area early.

JUJITSU: The art of utilizing the momentum or the predisposition, of the foe to one's advantage. Russy-an's predisposition: Love Affair with Vodka. Russian troops feel abandoned, traumatized, lied to, home sick in a hostile land where neither side has a quarrel. There is One thing they would die for: Russian vodka. Ukraine should use their superior logistical abilities to distribute a train load of Russian vodka to all occupiers as a measure of 'hospitality'. A smiling Babushka pulling a wagon full of Russia's Finest, could disable a battalion of poorly led, poorly equipped poorly fed Orcs in a single Friday night. In war: A SNOCKERED FOE...is a friend! Financial Analysis: The 'think tank experts' are approving spending 20-40 Billion of our dollars on war machines and munitions to bludgeon a bunch of demoralized slobs who don't want to be there. 150 thousand Orks X $8 a bottle of Russia's Finest: $1.2 million. Battalion of Babushkas (Amazon women??!) to deliver vodka to the occupiers @ $100 X 400: $ 40,000. Wagons and rail transport: $ 10,000. Total cost: $1.25 million. 150 thousand drunk Russians and their war machinery: PRICELESS! Slava Ukraine!

Alcoholism in Russia has always been an issue with its soldiers, because alcohol like Vodka is the only adult beverage that kept Russian soldiers warm especially during the Winter Season. I learned about this from several Ukrainians (they all served in the Soviet Union Army) that moved to the US after the collapse of the Soviet Union back in 1992.

I dont know if anyone is aware but before the war, Russia's GDP was around the same as the state of Texas. It takes huge amounts of resources to wage war, supply and occupy foreign territory not to mention the fact that NATO and pratically the whole world is supplying Ukraine with cutting edge weaponry, finances and logisctics.. unless Russia fully mobilizes its troops and declares open war in Ukraine, they will have long drawn out war which they will lose.
