I have a pair of viberg chukkas with that same sandy colored sole. that sole sold me on the chukka, they look great.

Great work , they look amazing ! What are the linings made of ? On my various pairs of shoes , the linings are a cream / beige colour leather.

Yes it's a soft calf leather with a half inch band around the top edges....not sure why, but it looked good 👍

Another great video, Anthony. I think the Vibram really suits a pair of 'summer Chuckas' and I would imagine quite comfortable. Now I have a question for you! I have a pair of Loake 1880 Chatsworths in rust brown suede that don't get much wear. I'd like to wax them, is that something you've done before? Converted regular suede to waxed/rough out suede?

Never!! And I don't think I ever would. The problem is getting them uniform or anywhere near uniform. I've buggered about with uppers before and always waisted loads of time trying to get the bloody things to match up. Admittedly, not what you're looking to do, but similar. Usually after a repair has gone wrong. Antony

Agree with you on the best shoes from Northampton. Best watches and cars are in my view made in Japan unfortunately. Great video.

Best watches from Japan?? That's a bit of a stretch, mate. I'd argue some high end German are better than some high end Swiss, though. Lange & Sohne as an example.

@@chrisp3330 It's a matter of taste really. Credor (by Seiko) do elaborate complications and can cost as much as £400,000 depending on tax and exchange rate (you have to import from Japan). They're on the same level as Lange & Sohne but a different aesthetic. However, there's far more variety of top brands that are Swiss. Apart from the "Holy Trinity" of AP, PP and VC 's more premium products ,there are lots of smaller makers producing only a few hundred high end watches per year. Companies like FP Journe, Philipe Dufour, Richard Mille, H. Moser etc.
