Pretty grim, I think, but as somebody who often worked Christmas Day in the past (I don't have kids so I always volunteered so that people could have the day off with their little ones) I've often had some ready meal or other at the end of the day. Mixed results to say the least! M&S do a pretty decent one if you're willing to stump up for their prices. Thankfully I've got somewhere to go this year for a proper dinner - God Bless us, every one! 😀

I used to do traffic management on roadworks that had to remain in place for safety... I ain't got family so was a good alternative to work... I usually ended up with service station sandwiches for Xmas dinner or a mushy pea sandwich of my own creation...cool as winter weather!.... did that for over twenty years!... maybe one day I'll get to have a full on feast...

I’m a domiciliary care worker and unfortunately some people only get this kind of meal, I’m working Christmas Day and will be doing ping meals like this for some of them who don’t have family. Some of them have family who take them to their home or if they’re unable to travel will bring a meal to their loved one.

That looks just as un-appetizing as our cheap frozen dinners here in Texas, except we'd have mashed potatoes (also awful). I'd prefer some of that cream of chicken soup, maybe with some rice, for the minimal cost. Great video! It's 16F/-8.9 this morning on the Texas Gulf Coast. A whole rotisserie chicken in various seasonings in the grocery stores here, ready to eat, is around $5USD and you can make two or three meals out of it.

I live alone and always cook myself a proper roast because you have to look after yourself and eating properly is essential to that. To be honest I would not feed that microwave muck to a pet dog. I do not like turkey so I will be doing roast chicken for Christmas dinner as I always do - with all the trimmings but no Yorkshire pud. (Yorkshire pud. with roast chicken?!?!) - but I will be microwaving the Christmas pudding. Best wishes to you and yours for Christmas and the New Year.
