I remember the opening lines "Henry... Henry Aldrich!" from TV when I was a kid in the 60s. Very good to see it here. Actually stands up quite well 64 years later.

Awesome to hear from someone from that times perspective. Anything else you remember well? I'd love to hear some stories if you don't mind 😁

The Henry Aldrich TV show sounds like the Henry Aldrich old time radio show. I bet people used to close their eyes and said , We gave up radio for this? Lol!

When this aired, actor Robert Casey, who plays Henry Aldrich, was a week shy of his 23rd birthday.

I love Lois Wilson as “Mrs.Aldrich”❤️🌹🌹💕 She began in silent films for Lois Weber in the mid 1910’s. Her surviving silent films ‘The End of the Game’ (1919) ‘Miss Lulu Bett’ (1922) ‘Manslaughter’ (1922) ‘The Covered Wagon’ (1923) along with talking films ‘Deluge’ (1933) ‘The Secrets of Wu Sin’ (1932) and as Shirley Temple’s Mother In ‘Bright Eyes’ (1934) and as Virginia Mayo’s mother in ‘The Girl From Jones Beach’ (1949) with Ronald Reagan are among my favorites!

Thanks for putting this on KZbin - now my kids can see why I often call them with -- "Henry--- henry Aldridge' and reply with . ' Coming mother ". They now know where I got it from . Goes with 'The Nelsons' ';Dobie Gillis', Fred McMurray, 'Leave it to Beaver' ,'The Honeymooners' and all those 50s and 60s classics

This appeared during the first season of the TV series, on NBC's Sunday night schedule at 7:30pm(et), while the original radio edition {starring Ezra Stone} aired on NBC's Thursday night schedule, for the same sponsor. House Jameson also played "Sam Aldrich" on the radio show...

I was born 1960 so this was before my time and it's never been on any TV channel in my area during my lifetime.However, I was always aware of it, and have listened to the old radio show of it on cassette before.It's funny.The father looks kinda old to be Henry's dad.

Pretty sure this was on television from 1949 to 1954 and even placed in the top 15 in the ratings for its 2nd season yet this is the only episode I've ever seen. Where'd you get this episode? Why is there nothing else available? Is it all lost or is it a rights issue? Anyone have a clue?

what scene in what episode does the lady yell HENRYYYYY! (famous for being in a lot of pop media including tom and jerry)
@josephnewberry92908 жыл бұрын
+Izlude Tingel It was always part of the radio show opening. Henry's mother yells "HEEENRY, Henry Aldrich!" and he responds, "Coming mother!" just like he does at the beginning of this TV episode. She does sometimes do it during the actual show as a callback to the opening.

This show was funny, but before my time.I was born 1960, but I saw some old movies on TV of that family, during my childhood. Henry and Homer both have shrill voices. I don't know why this show was never on tv, like anytime since 1980, as old reruns. I've listened to some of the radio shows of it before.The father kinda looks like Jack Cassidy.

That’s what I was thinking! None of them look as I pictured them from listening to the radio show except maybe the father. Henry and Homer don’t match at all. I thought Henry had glasses.
