The argument will be that he was handed a hot gun for a scene he knew he was going to fire blanks and as a result showed the appropriate concerns for peoples safety. The scene on the day in question called for a cold gun that should not have been loaded with blanks let alone a real round. It should have had only 100% inert dummies loaded into it that are safe to use in a room full of people.

The footage when he switches to his off hand (around the 27 second mark) is harder to make out but play it zoomed in while in slow mo and again booger hook along the guard. Later around the 29 second mark when he switches hands, when he returns it to his gun hand he has booger hook along the frame and outside the trigger guard. Watch at 2 mins 39 as he gets up, again booger hook clearly outside the trigger guard and along the frame.

The job of an armorer is to inventory and maintain firearms, and she did that just fine- the gun didn't get lost, and it worked perfectly. Armorers are not RSOs (Range Safety Officers). And neither armorers nor RSOs are responsible for what other people choose to do with a firearm. Baldwin chose to violate every single basic rule of firearms safety, pointed a loaded gun at innocent people, manually cocked the hammer all the way back, put his finger on the trigger, and pulled it, killing his victim through his own negligence.
