Alec,Alec,Alec! As a HUGE fan of the Books he's one of the most complex characters & not just his sexuality, he's also one of my favourites. In the terrible film that we do not speak about,not only was he horribly miscast, but,his story was all but eradicated. Matt Daddario,is perfect & though Jace & Clary are supposed to be the main characters, it's a testament to his skills an actor - & Harry Schum Jnr - that between them they succeed in becoming the stand out couple,with two of the most rounded performances. Really if it hadn't been for the amazing popularity of their "ship", its questionable that the fans would have got the 2 part "Happy Ending", which resolved so much for all the fans. As a book fanatic,I have the pleasure of Malec as an on going story,far more evoved than the rest of the characters. They have so far two stand alone novels,a multitude of cameo appearances - including in the so far ONLY ONLINE " Secrets of Blackthorn Hall" - in most books and many short stories dedicated to their on going relationship. It's so sweet to follow them as their family grows & for myself their "book" marriage is far more romantic and a way better 'pay off' than in the series. If you're a member of the fan club,you also have the Awesome 'secret story' of Alecs first kiss - proving it is he that seriously pursues Magnus ,rather than is sometimes suggested, the other way round. And in "The Bane Chronicles" we have the pleasure of their first date. In their first book we get to go on their first vacation as a couple. Throughout all Alec is defensive & grumpy,aggressive & courageous & for those he loves,sweet,kind & 100% there for them.To Alec the standout character, for me & MANY others.
