Great buggy pattern Vlad!!! I will have to spin some up be great behind a visible dry especially in a spinner fall..

Super cool Vlad, thanks for sharing. As you mention, this looks like many aquatic insects and stages (spinner fall or emergence). BTW: TMC just introduced a new hook TMC201R, that would be nice for this dressing.

Hi Vladimir. I really like this pattern and that you honor your friend by sharing your story and experience, very classy. There’s some other floating nymph patterns out there and they do work well for tough to catch fish. Thanks and please keep the content coming.

What a neat fly! Thanks for the video. What type of hook are you using? Is it a TMC 200R size 12 nymph hook or something comparable, maybe? What time of the year do you fish it for trout? BTW, I had read "The Feather Mechanic" in the middle of 2021 on your recommendation. And loved it for its philosophy, fly recipes with the explanations, beside the great drawings and enticing writing that just draws you in as a reader. Then a couple of weeks ago I read that Gordon Van Der Spuy had published " The Feather Mechanic II", and I ordered it. I'm now on Chapter 2, and just realized that you had written it! Thank you so much John. This hook is similar to TMC200R. I am using chinese version and it has wider gape too. But dont restrict yourself to using just this shape. Tmc100 would be great too, or tmc 900bl.... All good hooks, straight or slightly curved is ok. As soon as fish start rising i use this. No particular time. In serbia thats all season....from March till September. In US, i think, you may use it for midge patterns in winter, just make it tiny. Plus of course during all dry fly season. For me, olive, brown and cream are three most commonly used colors. About Gordons books, they are really beautifully written. I agree with you. Plus, glad you like second one, i was curious what people think of my chapter. Cheers 🍻 Vladimir
