Granny, I believe that you are around my age. We’re you watching tv in the 50’s, 60’s’70’s? If so do you remember when our tv programs would be interrupted and a picture would come on the tv of a radio tower sending out sound waves and saying that they were interrupting scheduled programs to test the emergency broadcasting system? Well, it’s the same today. In my humble opinion it’s a good thing to provide direction and instructions for us to know what to do or where to go in case of a national emergency such as a nuclear war or an attack on our country. When I was a girl my dad was stationed on Okinawa and we would have sirens going off occasionally for drills. If we were in school sometimes we had to get under our desks, other times we evacuated the school and marched to the bomb shelters and sat until the all clear was given. Nowadays as you well know millions of people don’t prepare for emergencies and wouldn’t have a clue what to do if there was one. Do you know of a bomb shelter in your area? I am guilty of not knowing either. I will have to put that on my list of things to find out. I think this alert system is a good thing for being prepared. The radio signals back in the day didn’t harm us and neither will this new alert system. I’m not trying to insulted you just stating my opinion.🥰

But that's not accurate according to DNA studies so far. We are a blended race. But a race of our own, regardless. The population has lightened in skin tone from intermarriage. Elvis Presley was a Melungeon through his mother, Gladys. Abraham Lincoln was also a Melungeon. I look like your average dark haired caucasian, but in the summer if im outdoors a lot, i turn a deep brown, not a golden suntan. Its browner than a suntan. Grandpa called me an Indian. Nobody knows we even exist. Our history is gone past a certain point. And like all Appalachian people, our population has been totally decimated by opiods and Fentanyl. I have lost 2 nieces.
