As the water drips from the sky, I start to wonder. If I'm still alive then I have to find the answer. Could it be that it was a dream, and I'm still beside her? Right before my eyes such a big surprise, the water stops. Wickedness will rain, and drown us in her. Sorrow (in her thoughts) If I hope to survive, I must think faster. I'm losing ground. Should I pull back her veil. You had the best of me (now taste the worst). All that glimmers is not gold. I may be wrong but your brilliance is my darkness. You had me convinced that together we would fly Until I started scratching at the surface. And your body is your masquerade. Your body is an illness. Temples crashing down all around me. Panic clears the streets The golden city falls. And with it our lives go up in flames. Should I pull back her veil. You had the best of me (now taste the worst). All that glimmers is not gold. I may be wrong but your brilliance is my darkness. You had me convinced that together we would fly Until I started scratching at the surface. And your body is your masquerade. Your body is an illness. My blood runs cold. (There's no need to fear our love.) I feel alone from you (Choose me or you will be left, abandoned) (Will somebody shout? Is there anybody right?) Who are you? Who are you? Who are you? Yeah! Hey hey hey hey Hey hey hey hey Hey hey hey hey Hey hey hey hey I pull back her veil. You had the best of me (now taste the worst). All that glimmers is not gold. I may be wrong but your brilliance is my darkness. You had me convinced that together we would fly Until I started scratching at the surface. And your body is your masquerade. Your body is an illness. ? I may never be the same again (I may never be the same again)

I have very vivid memories of the release of this song and the album in general. Alesana might not like this album but it holds a special place in my heart. Alongside The Emptiness and On Frail Wings of Vanity and Wax, this album means an era for me. It was part of my development and I will always cherish the sounds and story behind this album. This meant my high school years and all the shit that went down, all the friends and feelings that I instantly remember just because it is connected to this era. I am so proud of these guys and the legacy they left for us. I remember counting down the hours for the release of this song, I anticipated a continuation of The Emptiness so much. I was fascinated by Annabel and The Artist, it was impossible for me not to want a second part. When I first heard this song, I remember I screamed, I was so excited and because it was so late and I had to go to school the day after, I went to sleep but my body was so anxious for daylight so I could blast the song on my headphones that I couldn't sleep. I wanted to listen to it over and over again. There was something sonically sad and melancholic about this tune that I remember I even looked it up without vocals to figure out why it was so mesmerizing to my ears. It turns out it was the whole production of it, the whole composition, the backtracking melodies, the lyrics, Denis, the violins, the instrumental, and of course Shawn's melodic voice. It was simply everything because everything was where it was supposed to be. It had something that reminded me of "A Lunatic's Lament" Absolutely fantastic song. It was everything I wanted. I was absolutely thrilled about this album. You can guess I ran to my local CD store and begged my dad to purchase the album. I was the happiest when he said yes. I had to spell the band's name out to the cashier so he could check in his computer's system if he had the album in his store. It is a pity that many people bash their own fanatism when they were younger and don't appreciate the melancholy that listening to these melodies actually give you. This was true hardcore Millenial emo music and I absolutely love to have been a part of this odd but amazing era of our time. I still listen to Alesana from time to time and I have realized I wasn't wrong when I loved them so much! Almost 2020 and bitch I love this.

Warsha Cerulli alesana is more than just a band. They are story tellers. Through out the emptiness all the way to they said a storm was coming is all a story about Annabel and the crazy man they call the "lover", "murderer, artist and ect. This band has litteraly told a story through their music in four albums. Been together for 13-14 years. They also published a book. Not one band has ever done what these guys have. Proud to say this is definitely my favorite band in all rock /hardcore music.

Its not a crime to be 14 years of age and love some of the most amazing music known to man. In fact I started listening to alesana when I was twelve, I am now 17 and I still rave over every single morsel alesana puts on the table. The emptiness by far was my favorite, not at first but it had this weird effect on me, every time I listened to it I loved it MORE AND MORE until it was my favorite album they had created. People of all ages should be able to enjoy they melodic symphony that is alesana

Alesana is such and underrated band. They are probably one of the best bands right now. All of their songs are so unique and different, they bring a whole new talent to the table. Not to mention how incredibly talented they are. The creativity is unlike any other band I've heard. Their albums tell a story, beautiful and deadly alike. I believe they have more talent then most of the "popular" bands in this genre/scene. They deserve more credit they are given.
