"Visions" This is a call to arms, so grab your guns and get your horses Only the dead have seen the end of this fight This is a call to arms, so all you fallen soldiers sing with me: death or glory So march with me if you believe there's any hope for us I've been hiding in these trenches for far too long All is fair in love and war, so they tell me All is fair in love and war, so they say Come on, come on, there has to be a better way Get up, get up, let's leave this mess I know a place that we can get away from all of this Come on come on, get up get up I've been dreaming of us leaving everything and everyone we've ever known I've been thinking all these visions must be a sign, so hold on and don't let go No, we can't leave till you tell me everything So come clean, don't talk in tongues. Talk in tongues It's time to bring out your dead And all the skeletons that you've been hiding Tell me everything I need to know Bring out your dead [2x] So march with me if you believe there's any hope for us I've been hiding in these trenches for far too long All is fair in love and war, so they tell me All is fair in love and war, so they say Come on come on, get up get up I know a place that we can get away from all of this Yeah [2x] I couldn't see a thing till I shut my eyes I never knew a thing till I lost my mind I would sell my soul to know it all, but I held the keys all this time [2x] I've been dreaming of us leaving everything and everyone we've ever known I've been thinking all these visions must be a sign, so hold on and don't let go Bring out your dead [3x]

This takes me back to being 16, getting dumped, going through depression, losing friends and finding new ones - this album really held me with it's cold embrace, cold and bitter, but an embrace nonetheless. The catholic feeling and packaging of this album matched my city's feeling so well too. I'd kill to go back to that time, just for a little visit. Anyone else feel that way or experience this album the same?
@Shade8782 жыл бұрын
Ik this comment is old but that describes my relationship with this song perfectly.
@VOUXE2 жыл бұрын
Wasn't it such a vibe? I learned the album on guitar and it immediately and that further changed my perspective on it as well. I think the album is one of a kind and incredibly beautiful. Also back then Oli still had this vendetta against any backstabbers etc, he seemed so vindictive, it was borderline toxic but I felt this way as well and along side the loss of love/relationship songs on the album it tied in so well with where I was at. Btw my city isn't large, but there are remnants of catholic churches and buildings, its weather also matches the old bmth vibe. At that time I was jamming parkway drive/tdwp etc, I remember when Northlane's "Singularity" came out, that's where I entered another realm of music and feeling in the world and towards it, but I never let those days go fully of course.

You really put this experience with the song and album into words for me. I listened to this album nonstop between 7th-10th grade, and that catholic feeling matched my home life and city/school. I’m 24 now, and about a year ago recently revisited all my old music and just got this inexplicable rush of nostalgia. Younger me absolutely hated that time but for some reason I’d kill to go back, even just to see her sitting in her room by herself. After revisiting I also got this cathartic new perspective on the lyrics. “I couldn’t see a thing until I shut my eyes, I never knew a thing until I lost my mind, and I would sell my soul to know it all, but I held the keys all this time.” Younger me didn’t even know this back then, but now, equipped with those parts of me and newfound wisdom, I’m just in shock at how much this entire album makes me want to ascend lol. I’d love to learn it on drums and really want the album cover as a tattoo.

I really like something about all of their albums. I recently got into them, and although Survival Horror is my favourite. From Suicide Seasom to AMO, they have so many good songs, andd lyrics, that I don't understand the hate their new stuff gets, I also don't get why so few newer fans explore their past albums

This is a Call to arms, So grab your guns and get your horses Only the dead have seen the end of this fight. This is a Call to arms, so all you fallen soldiers sing with me, Death or Glory So march with me if you believe there's any hope for us. I've been hiding in these trenches for far too long. All is fair in war or so they tell me All is fair in war or so they say Come on, come on, there has to be a better way. Get up, get up, let's leave this mess. I know a place that we can get away from all of this. Come on come on, get up, get up I've been dreaming of us leaving everything and everyone we've ever known. I've been thinking all these visions must be a sign, so hold on and don't let go. No, we can't leave 'til you tell me everything. So come clean, don't talk in tongues. It's time to bring out your dead. And all the skeletons that you've been hiding. Tell me everything I need to know. Bring out your dead, bring out your dead So march with me if you believe there's any hope for us. I've been hiding in these trenches for far too long. All is fair in war or so they tell me All is fair in war or so they say Come on come on, get up, get up I know a place that we can get away from all of this, yeah I couldn't see a thing 'til I shut my eyes. I never knew a thing 'til I lost my mind. I would sell my soul to know it all, But I held the keys all this time I couldn't see a thing 'til I shut my eyes. I never knew a thing 'til I lost my mind. I would sell my soul to know it all, But I held the keys all this time I've been dreaming of us leaving everything and everyone we've ever known I've been thinking all these visions must be a sign, so hold on and don't let go I've been dreaming of us leaving everything and everyone we've ever known I've been thinking all these visions must be a sign, so hold on and don't let go Bring out your dead Bring out your dead Bring out your dead

Honestly, I don't know who would agree with me, but when I listen to them I feel like the entire world is broken, and I have an urge serge through my body of wanting to destroy, and completely break anything and everything that is breakable. Oh god, their songs make me have really strong feelings basically every morning that I can't explain. I hope one day I can be as good as Matt Nichols.

I’d say the same, but this has a more cathartic feeling than that of a Suicide Season song. In SS, BMTH expresses a lot of hate and emotion. In There is a Hell, BMTH expresses sadness and despair with hints of anger. There’s a difference between an SS song and a There is a Hell song. I’d say There is a Hell does metalcore better.

They're not teenagers anymore. It's been twelve years. People aren't always going to stick to the same goals and ideals all their life, whether by choice or by force (Oli's vocal issues). On top of that, people like to be different. Nobody likes to do the same thing all the time. Bands should always experiment with new styles at least once, something out of their comfort zone. Even if people don't like it, they can at least say they tried something new. Amo, to me, sounds like a mix of all of the styles of pop and rock, rather than just straight pop. For me, all that matters is that they're having fun making music. If it pleases their fans, but the band members are miserable, what's the point of making music?
