Thank you, same issue with the command 12" snare (red cable even). I was able to strip the wire casing, reconnect them and tape it back up. So far so good!

Same problem. I just cut the trigger wires and soldered a new 27mm piezo trigger from Amazon on and contact cemented it to the top of the plastic sheet. Just left the old one on the bottom of the sheet. Works great.

@@BigBlackTruckDave your vid clicked the light bulb... "broken wire!". Thx for pointing me in the right direction.
@gclaborn3 ай бұрын
Well, mine has broken again. The wire on my replacement piezo must be about 30 gauge...! I replaced with 20 gauge and that seems to be holding up better... we'll see.

I've had to fix my snare 3 times, by re soldering thin wire. The 3rd time, I pulled all that thin wire out. Replaced it with 16 gauge wire. Great drums, 0 customer service. I'm not sure why they'd use that paper thin 22 gauge wire. I replaced with thicker wire about 3 months ago. No trouble yet. Good video, Thanks

Its like why use the cheapest wires you can find alesis? Make a great product built to fail? hopefully nothing else fails.
@seymourheiney12 Жыл бұрын
What gauge wire did you end up using? Thanks.
@MyStein1 Жыл бұрын
@@seymourheiney12 it was 16 gauge wire. It's still holding up, I haven't had to mess with it since replaced the wire.

Really helpful video thank you! I actually think the plastic square is whats cut the wire as it lines right up

same problem, found out that the trigger was broken. fixed it with tapes and now it works fine.

Its crazy how cheap they make this. Like they have to know things are gonna break sooner than later. Glad ya fixed it

@@BigBlackTruckDave exactly, i doubt the tape gonna last, im a hard hitting sometimes ahah

Hi, i have the exact same problem. The wire is far too small to strip with the tool i have. Do you need a special tool to strip it?
@BigBlackTruckDave Жыл бұрын
if you can get a lighter on it, heat it up and pull off the coating. It not you can try using the soldering iron tip. Once it warms up good you can pinch and pull the amount of coating off you need to wire in a jumper. They really cheaped out on the wire guage in these kits. Good luck.

I have the same problem , same cables completely disconnected. Where do they go exactly? If its a matter of soldering them back i can easily do that.
@BigBlackTruckDave Жыл бұрын
You have to open it to find out where they broke. I just soldered a jumper to make the wire longer and take the stress off the crappy wires Alesis used. Black and Red wires pretty easy to fix just be patient.
@JodyRushMusic11 ай бұрын
This is the exact same problem if your kick drum goes out. Cheap wiring on Alesis’ part.

check your jack is plugged all the way into the drum first. if you suspect it is the physical drum causing the issue a closer inspection is needed. open up the drum. its simple. There is not much to it . look at the wires all the way. check for cracks.

I’ve repaired mine twice now. Absolutely the thinnest wire I’ve ever seen! Now it’s time to rewire the whole snare with heavier gauge. Anyone’s bass head wear a hole in it yet? Can’t rotate that because the sensor is glued to the head. Not very good quality from Alesis.
@BigBlackTruckDave Жыл бұрын
I have a kevlar patch on my bass drum. Been holding up pretty well but I have my eye on it. Only problem I have had is the snare issue. Wires are as thin as a cat whisker.
@seymourheiney12 Жыл бұрын
@@BigBlackTruckDave I’ll look into the patch. Good idea!

I have an Aquarian double kick pad on mine. Just stuck it on and it hasn't moved. I cant even tell its there. Using the newer style iron cobra stock beaters also.@@seymourheiney12
@mfsmfs63 Жыл бұрын
The hole in the mesh head is because you're using a felt or cloth beater. Change it to wood or hard plastic and that bass head will last forever.

@@mfsmfs63 Good info. A bit too late.😉 I got the Kevlar patch. But now a cymbal send went out. This model is a complete piece of shit. I’ve never abused and it’s never left the house.
