Sounds like an honest review, about time someone makes that instead of a paid 'review'. You forgot to mention one other drawback, no exporting kits or trigger settings or even a global MIDI dump afaik... that plus the stuff you mentioned are a no go for a flagship in my opinion.

I really appreciate your knowledge and honesty, and the amount of work you put into this video. Hoping to upgrade my kit next year and really torn between this kit and the Roland Td-27kv2. Rooting for the release of a Strata Prime 2 with issues ironed out as i love the look of the kit and the module.

I have a TD-27 that's midi to my strike SE (so I can run the digital HH and snare), and the TD by itself is....meh not bad sound wise, the biggest problem I have with it, is it doesn't offer multi-velocity drum samples with round robin, Roland achieves soft/hard hits with volume, which still has that machine gun affect, with my SE midi to it, the snare now sounds better...the HH still has that single velocity sound apparently the strata offers 10 round robin, with like over 100 velocity samples, which makes it, IMO, a lot more real sounding!

It can only get better ❤️🩹

The samples sound great. Do you have to turn the cross stick on manually?

Hey, this Aggi from the video. Yeah, the sounds really are great. And you can play rim shots and cross sticks without switching.

13 milliseconds? Does it say that in the manual or did you measure it?
@FoundationElectronicsАй бұрын
how do you know if it's 13ms of latency? is there a way to test what the numbers are? I've have SD3, and when I 1st set up the audio, I had 11ms of latency, and it was horrible! now, unless it's a different type of latency, then I could understand...but if this is 13ms, I'd say that's pretty good, considering the linux OS the strata has

Hey :) this is Aggi from the video. It's a simple test. Connect the module to an audio interface -> connect a mic to the same interface -> record the mic (next to the pad) and the module simultaneously on separate tracks -> measure the delay between the two signals 10 Milliseconds are often considered as acceptable. Cheers!

@@aggiberger8948 I asked this above, didn't see you'd already answered this. That's a bit of a bummer, 13ms is massive. When you consider the Ddrum3 module from 1993 was 1.6, that's faster than if you was sitting at a kit.

When I play it’s not noticeable the latancy.You have to be so good because electric every move is heard. If you’re off every can tell.
