When she is in low stance, she is so stable. When she moves, she is fast, sharp and concentrated. It is rare to see that kind of perfectness. Love her karate.

I am quite of the opposite opinion. I think her stances to be clear than useless. But don't believe me, simply imitate her stances and then have a friend give you a modest push. As to concentration... are you sure you do not mean constipation? At best her face reflects pushing out a hard turd... not real combat. Is that the face you would wear to a real fight?

@@johnwilkes4671 I said, that looks perfect Karate to me, I said nothing about combat. Karate is unfortunately not useful for combat on these days like it has been before. Personally I hate for example mr. Giching Funakoshi for ruining Karate.

Well my friend I am in the opposing camp in this one but confess your thinking more the main stream. But for me Kara and combat are too intertwined to separate. It's a divine union. What God hath joined together, let no man put apart.

This lady has a form beautifully crafted to win medals. I respect that. But that said, it is also soulless and bleached out Kabuki theater. Ice sculpture.

As an alternative, dangerous is beautiful. Fearsome is lovely and deep in the belly of our common man's art is a junk yard dog waiting to be looosed. Or is that just me?

Excelente la técnica de Rika Usami. Lo mejor es que se aprecia con gran precisión los movimientos de Naha-te y Shuri-te, propios de este kata. Toda mi admiración.

Would this be useful in a fight?could she take out someone 2-3 times her size?
@wilhelmu4 жыл бұрын
2 times her size? you mean a 3 meter tall human? That's some attack on titan shit
@thedarkdevilsoul3 жыл бұрын
Not really. But she can beat anybody who has equal weight and strength as her... maybe even someone who is a bit stronger. That's the advantage of knowing martial arts.

It does not matter that the that is someone short or tall ....if you know the right technique s and speed with power It is very useful in a fight
@uniquod93372 жыл бұрын
goju ryu karate was made by Japannese ancient people who tend to be shorter than other countrys people, its a short distance combat art, to invade enemies spaces. sorry for my english

great performance, though its a shame the small nuances of this Kata is getting lost. This is a competition version of the Seienchin kata and is no representation of the real deal.
@AlessandroTimmi8 жыл бұрын
True, but it is a common problem of sports karate unfortunately.
@MarioUcomics7 жыл бұрын
tenshin2002 to be honest it really doesn't matter as long as your bunkai is realistic. No kata will be the same as the Chinese forms they came from and the true intent of the kata have already been lost through the sands of time. And either way kata is never to be taken literally since fighting is dynamic and the same move will work differently on different people, that's way even old pre karate styles like shuri te or Naha te were so dramatically different in the way they do thing. There has never been or ever has been one way to do things

Quick and mousy in my humble opinion, but if it keeps the art alive Wonderful all the better
