I'm reading the book first. It is quite delightful. Obviously alot of differences, but the essence of this story has been beautifully adapted for tv. I did not realise tho, that the book is, altho written in the 3rd person, essentially, Alex's pov. Do please read it. And i'd like to see it in colege libraries too, for those lads who need time to find their way. It would have been invaluable when I was a Senior Teacher counselling 16-18 yr olds.

This part of the movie is so full of love it is easy to forget it is a movie. The chemistry between the two perfection. As a side note, the piano scene has something you will almost never see: Nick's hands on the keyboard. It is very seldom shown that a character is playing the piano, simoly because most actirs could not makebit look right. Nick is playing the piece properly, whether the recording is playing or not. I suspect we may be hearing Nick actually playing, both because of the accuracy of his fingering, but slso the sound of the instrument. What we hear is the sound of a real Bleuthner piano. Piano makers each have a distinct sound, sort of an ear print if you will.

Poor, sweet, innocent Alex. Throughout English history, many a king (and queens) have kept people unjustly prisoner. And I'm saying this as an American who has read far too much about English history!

That's true about the Royals keeping some people as unjustly prisoners in the Tower, even their own family like what happened between Eleanor of Aquitaine and Henry II or Anne Boleyn and Henry VIII, @Originella. I'm also a history nerd and love English history! But then again, there were also some Kings and Queens that were like Henry and England has/had so many people in the LGBTQIA+ community but of course the Royal Family- at least in the movie, I don't know about the real Royal Family- won't look at those books of their royal ancestors and would rather stick the old "it was just rumors or hearsay" belief. And aah, Alex and Henry are just so beautiful together, I honestly can't stop looking at this movie. I better pre-order this when it comes out in DVD or Blu-Ray because I'm just so in love with their story.
