Wow! You need to do a big coffee table book of portraits of these beauties. People don’t understand, these are power tools and they changed the world pretty radically. It’s important history you’ve curated together here. Besides, if I had a couple good picture books, I could stop buying old sewing machines to hoard. Maybe.

My Grandmother's Treadle/ her sister's Aunt Mable's electric crinkle Singer from the 40's to 1950's Aunt Ediths Singer.. to my 1970'sKenmore and 2000 Kenmore serger.. and many others that were given to me .. a hybrid Singer of ( mother-in-laws) to many other plastic Singers.. Recently I purchased a work trailer and I want hydro in there.. but that requires a complete hydro upgrade so.. but dreams come true.. wirh this summer I will have my sewing studio up and running and some how have hydro & have afternoon tea with my visitors once this pandemic is over. To show or not to show. That is the question? I had always hoped to encourage other collectors around the world and my Sewalot.com blog tries too. Whats the use of collecting old sewing machines ? Jut dint get the point.. I find it completely crazy
@SheDrawsThread Жыл бұрын
+ ghazal Because these incredible vintage sewing machines, if well looked after and maintained, can last (and actually work) for hundreds of years. We live in an age where shoes, sofas and plastic gadgets have a short lifespan. Then there's our smart phones which have an average lifespan of 2.5 years and then end up in landfill. According to The International Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) in 2022 , *5.3 billion* mobile phones were thrown away.... "You need to be a little crazy. Crazy is the price your pay for having an imagination!" :) Julie Tallard Johnson
