What Fergie acheived at Aberdeen FC was far more impressive than what he achieved at Man U!!!! It was success built from the ground up, without the money and resources that Man U..one of the biggest clubs and fan bases in world had!
@yt-rustconsole10652 жыл бұрын
He made United who they were 😂😂 look at them now without Ferguson nothing to do with money or fan base he was just a world class manager

Credit to man u for recognising greatness All sir Alex's achievements speak for themselves but for many u to see that and appoint him manager is truly just a master stroke I hate man u But trying to prove to you that he's one of a kind With the smallest to the biggest of clubs Was successful That's a manger Don't diminish the fact he coached a big club Because the big club don't come calling without a resume

This period of Scottish football will never be repeated. Between Aberdeen dominating, beating Real Madrid, and Dundee United beating Barcelona and getting to the Europan Cup semis and Uefa Cup final.

My dad has told me lots of times of back when teams like Aberdeen and Dundee united used to be teams to be feared in Europe but didn’t actually know the history. This video has helped. Even as a Celtic fan, I’d love to see some of these teams back to their former glory. Our league’s have never lost their character and I’m thankful for that, it just all comes down to money these days sadly 🤷🏼♂️

Yup it’s a sad state of affairs nowadays, was way more interesting, ballsy and competitive back in the 80s. Glad I got to experience it first hand. We just can’t compete with Gers and Celtic these days.

Not only the lack of money my friend. It's more about the lack of driven managers who aim high. Dundee in Shankly reached the Semis of the European cup and won the league. Dundee United under Mclean reached the semis of the European cup and final of the Uefa cup as well as win the league. Celtic under stein, well... European cup was no problem for them. Aberdeen under Fergie... We all know how well that went lol. Hibs reached the semis of the 1st ever European cup in the 50s when they were a strong team. All the managers above we're old school and feared no one but they also knew how to get the most out their players. For example after Aberdeen drew against Rangers in his first game against them as Aberdeen manager, Fergie is recorded as saying "they were celebrating that like it was a victory, I had to change their mentality of playing against the Old Firm". This is what is needed now in Scotland but not just the coaches, also the boardrooms. Aberdeen have had 2 perfect opportunities to sign a top class winning coach, they went for Stephen Glass and now Goodwin. Talk about aiming low. Goodwin came out and said in his first few days as the new Aberdeen manager " I will make Aberdeen the 3rd biggest club in Scotland again". 3rd??? Really? Imagine if Fergie had that attitude, Aberdeen would not have achieved what they did. We need more of those old school manager who want to break the Old Firm, McInnes looked like the closest we have had for a long time.

Aberdeen also won the UEFA Supercup after they won the Cup-Winners Cup, beating SV Hamburg over two legs. They are the only Scottish side to win two European trophies.

I agree. His achievements at Aberdeen to me are greater than those at Manchester United. Very impressive.

Needs more descriptive language, such as when mentioning the beautiful curling equaliser from McLeish in the 1982 Scottish Cup Final or the famous free-kick that flummoxed Bayern Munich a year later. These are iconic moments from that era.

I met a lady in Manly, Australia whose family went to an open home at Sir Alex's house in Aberdeen when she was a child. She said it was quite modest, with a Tartan rug, and interesting looking bar where she was running around with her brother.

In this day's, Fergie will not last 2 years in mun United. In his first couple of years in mun United he won nothing, the mun United CEOs were very patient with him, Fergie had plenty of time to make good team.

Y’all just be saying anything. Ferguson inherited a sh*t side with terrible culture, and deep underlying problems. He had to get away the rot developed over time. Was it slow to come to fruition? Yes. But it’s testament to the vision of the board to know “This is our man” and give him enough time to succeed. It’s different than say giving an idiot like David Moyes more time, because it was pretty obvious he was unbelievably out of his depth at United. 👌
