Another great interview with someone I have only seen play but not interviewed. She is so fierce on the field, and seems so kind and humble off the field. Keep up the great work, Sam!!

Agree with you. She is so underrated. Do you remember the team had to play without her and it looked like quite different team. She is a strong leader.

i genuinely thought she was irish or scottish until you said scouse because of her rolling r's and using "you'se" . absolutely adore her, she and williamson is probably the strongest passing defense in the world, her left foot and her vision are absolutely insane, and what a nice person she is off the pitch as well. love her.

How could she be Irish or Scottish playing for England? She is one of the most notable Lionesses 😂😂

I thought the interviewer looked familiar, and it was Samantha Mewis, who I liked and played for the US women's national team! I didn't know she was best friends with Greenwood. Greenwood is now a teammate of Yui Hasegawa at City, the team I support. Women's soccer values friendships with friends and the circle of friends is expanding. It's wonderful. As a fan of women's soccer in Japan, I look forward to seeing it develop.

Sam! Thank you so much for this interview, two of my all-time favorite players! #City is the WSL and Premier team that I root for. I've been an Alex Greenwood fan since watching the Lionesses in the 2019 WC. I did my best to watch every City WSL game I could while you and Rose were there on the team. Seeing you and Alex together on my favorite WSL team was so awesome. I had the pleasure of meeting you briefly in KC a couple of times during your short stint with the Current. I was crushed when you announced your retirement. I wish you all the best!

Thanks for this interview. Alex is one of my favorite players. She has more than once put her team "on her back" and willed them forward. I started watching women's soccer back in the days of Mia Hamm, whose eyes reminded me of Franz Beckenbauers's eyes surveying the pitch. It is great to see Alex participate in a well-structured in-depth interview (you really did your homework Sam!) and she is a very well-spoken representative for women's soccer, and for soccer in general indeed! All the best to you both! Pity though about the US bowing out of the host competition.
@johnvalersky77584 ай бұрын
Thanks for the "like". If you can how about watching the upcoming Bayern-Wolfsburg game. The game will feature probably most of the German players going to the Olympics as part of their national team and I think a lot of folk would like to get your take on them, and how well we match up--and, of course, there' the Lyon-Barcelona game to review as well.

Winning the Euros seems akin to how the US fans remember the '99ers, decades later it is a moment frozen in time and memory. As a USAer the Lionesses win is another moment I always remember as a monumental shift for women's football. Suggestion next time you do a 'What does this word mean?' segment maybe spell the word out so we can tell what you are actually saying? BTW, loved how Alex genuinely laughed so hard on the clobbered[sic] definition by Sam.
@alansmithee88314 ай бұрын
Hello Sam. I praised Alex already in comments on the trailer for this video, but that was another great chat. For some reason getting clobbered on the field made me think of Georgia Stanway, who I still watch playing for Bayern Munich on DAZN from UK. It is thirty years since I was New York, which is like two ages of your next guest!

I love all your interviews Sam. You're just a natural and seem to put in the work to research and line up good topics to discuss. I will say that I randomly decided to watch on KZbin instead of listen to the podcast and had no idea you had a proper interview setup with multiple cameras, lighting, etc. Very nice! Maybe it was being at man city and using their facilities but in any case it was properly professional 👊

Thank you for this, amazing interview! Alex Greenwood is MASSIVELY underrated. An absolutely key player for Man City, definitely one of the key players for the Lionesses. Her vision for her passes are insane. You rarely see any player get past Alex, she will stop you in any way possible. So glad she gets some recognition and gets interviewed, doesn't happen nearly enough! Enjoyed both the questions and the answers immensely!

Sam Mewis was awsome playing for CIty, huge presence, most of the fans were desperate for Rose to get more playing time too but it seemed she started with an injury and couldn't force her way into the starting 11 as often as we as fans would have liked. Lets hope Alex can lift that trophy with Steph this year.

I would love to hear more about the letter they wrote to their government regarding girl's soccer after they won. Interesting to compare that to the USWNT whom only seem to talk about the inequalities THEY experience. The Lionesses understand that change happens at the youth level. Great interview, Sam! What an honor for you to have played with her at City.
