7:42 they weren't turning gay. Some animals have more plasticity when it comes to their sex. For those species it isn't always determined at conception like with humans. Some are more likely to develop female or male sex organs depending on their environment. In this specific case, when the frogs are exposed to estrogen they're more likely to develop female sex organs. The study Alex Jones was misquoting basically showed that estrogen from birth control pills, etc. still existed in trace amounts in the residential waterways the researchers examined. I haven't looked into it all that much, but I'm guessing this is true for most chemicals that are too hard to filter out completely. Basically the point of the study was to show that the filtered water still had trace amounts of hormones, and to show how that affected the marine life in the area. Alex Jones probably read a pop science headline about it and his bad faith spin was that the "chemicals in the water make you gay." And because it's memeable, and there is a tiny nugget of truth in there for his fans to latch onto, it became a whole thing.
