I've watch from day 1 and 100% think they should end up together. They are NOT sibilings. Alex even mentions in the latest season the Mer is family but no, he doesn't see her as his sister. (When theyre all on the boat and jacksons thinking about maggie). They've been there for each other forever, and are best friends but I don't think being in love would ruin them, it would only make them better. Realistically I don't think theres a way to get around Jo and I don't want Alex to hurt again, but in my mind Merlex is perfect.
